Does anyone search items on ebay by using thhe gallery? I sure don't! Everyone I know searches by title (and description sometimes) and if the item sounds good, I take a look at the listing which includes a photo.

So, the PENNY GALLERY DAY is ebay giving us nothing for nothing (actually, nothing for one cent!).

I'd sure like to see a FLD; I don't think ebay would really hurt if they did that for us.... they STILL get final value fees, and 10 day fees and reserve fees!

think we'll see a FLD?

I agree 100% but I am going to use the penny gallery anyway since it looks like we are getting hosed on FLD.

My decision to go ahead and use the penny gallery is based on 2 things.

1. The newest layout of the seller's list.

2. The postal rate increase.

All week, as a buyer, I have really paid attention to the seller's other auctions. With the new postal rates, combining shipping is more beneficial than ever. I just hope having the gallery pics on my seller's list will generate even more multiple bidders and perhaps higher bids too.

I don't necessarily search the gallery, per say, BUT when I do a title search, I check out those with pictures first. Why waste my time going to auctions to have to see the item, if I can see a picture with the listing, and know that I like or don't like the item immediately.

The ONLY time I don't care about a picture with the listing title is on books, otherwise, those with pictures get my attention and usually purchases first.

Basically, I am only a seller, and my approach to the gallery is, if it isn’t worth a gallery picture, it isn’t worth my posting. We have tested items, and found the gallery to produce well for us……gallery pictures, produced by someone who takes time in a good photo program like PaintShop Pro7, give an excellent view of an item, even in miniature size.

I list thru Auction Watch, and when I get to the gallery selection, box marked not available can't be unchecked. What's up?

instead of unchecking the NA box,
(N/A Your item will not be included in the Gallery )

click one line below that where it says:
$0.25 Adds a picture preview to your item

and to the right of it is a drop down window that says Not Selected
you need to go and look there for the picture that you wanna use in the gallery.

I'm going to take the penny gallery, I sell
clothes and even though people dont really search by gallery it gives them a preview
and with the new "sellers all auctions"
format it gives them a preview there too,
so I like it.

Thanks LAIOCHKA
One more question. On some of the auction pages, I see a small picture preview on the top of the page. How do I set that up?

If you host a pic with eBay (first one is free), that picture will show up, if you click the box in their listing form. No charge.

In other words, since I list thru AW, I can't get that picture?

We listed all of our auctions yesterday with no gallery option - we figured everyone else would be using it, and now our auctions will stand out from the crowd

Though, really, won't the search pages be loading very slowly over the next few days, because of all the thumbnails? I don't think there would be many extra listings (though I guess ebay is thinking otherwise, or else the whole day was pointless!) but if everyone uses the gallery option, the pages will load so slowly....
