I have been selling on Ebay for 3 years.
I have over 900 positive feedbacks, and no negs until today. 5 weeks ago I had an auction end with buy it now. I sent the buyer
5 emails, and never received a reply. I filed for a rufund for my listing fees etc.today the buy who has only a feedback of 3 left me a neg that says. a pleasure not to do business with. The item this person bought went for 20.00. what would your respons be? Are we suppose to be held hostage now with our feedback if we file a non-payment alert. What really gets me mad is not the feedback this person left, but Ebay.
Ebay allows these non paying bidders to continue. from what I read they wont even remove the non-deserved feedback. This is only my opinion, but maybe the new bidders should not be allowed to leave negs until they at least get a feedback rating of 10.Its just not fair that we bust your butts, and then have a nut come along and try to ruin us. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated..

Be sure to file for FVF when you are eligible and post truthful neg on this person. Also respond to the neg left you like, person left neg because I filed NPB against him. DO NOT respond in a negative manner as it will make you look bad. If you do it in a professional manner, other bidders will be able to read between the lines and figure out the real truth. After that, simply move on and keep your quality service going for the rest of the good people out there.

I know exactly how you feel. I have been selling for 3 years as well and I have over 1000 positive feedbacks. My one and only neg came from a non paying buyer my first month on Ebay. I filed for refund of fees and left a neg (as I understood I should do so other's would know) and he immediately posted one back.

To this day I just hate looking at my feedback page with that ugly red 1 on it showing 1 negative feedback! I can't help it. I hate it and think it is so unfair that Ebay allows retaliatory negs and will not remove them. It has not affected my sales, but it still bothers me and that is 3 years later.

Get over it. Give this guy his neg back and move on. (yes, retaliate in kind) You're lucky to have made it this far without a neg. A neg is the price of doing business and frankly, a seller with a FB of 900 and NO negs is about the best anyone could have done.

Seems like all the negs come about over items under $50.00 Funny....

The very same thing has just happened to me. First they would not pay. Then I file NPB and they neg me!

Oh well, I now have 3 negs. All undeserved, and I hate everyone of them, but what can you do?

I have gotten 2 of them this past month and half. This summer is really bringing out the crazies. I have been doing ebay since 1999 and never have I had so many nutty bidders.

PAINSS.....

Just the price we sellers must pay!

900 Pos. without a Neg. (til today) is pretty good considering all the flakes that are floating about on eBay.

It will even out in time.

I myself have received Positives lately (in a matter of hours) after my auctions have ended and before I had even sent the items.....go figure!

Being professional about it is really important, since it will minimize any possible harm, and 1 neg out of 900 really doesn't hurt in the long run. It will soon scoll off the first page of feebacks anyway.

I have my fingers and toes crossed as I type this, but I always file negative feedback after going through FVF process. But it is what I post that I think helps keeps retaliatories to a minimum. Something like:

"Non paying bidder. EOA 5/1 REM 5/15 NPB 5/29 FVF 6/10"

If there was a retaliatory to my feedback I would simply post:

"Retaliatory from a NPB, see my earlier FB to this buyer."

Of course, you may prefer a different wording and strategy, but this has worked successfully for me so far. (Knocking on wood table!)

Go to Square Trade and file a complaint to have the neg. removed. It costs $20.00, but eBay subsidises (sp?) the $20 bucks. Hey, it's worth a shot. OR.... you could put his name and address or phone number or say something REALLY politically incorrect in your response to the feedback, then have a friend complain to Safe Harbor. and the neg. will be gone in a flash. Good luck!

Just neg them back in kind and move on. I do agree that the system stinks.
As other posters have stated just leave the facts. NPB retaliatory neg.

Now that you have a negative feedback it will be easier the next time. Leave this person the negative they deserve. From now on leave everyone that deserves it a negative. It feels good!!! To have 900 positives and no negatives my guess is you have not been leaving negatives to those who deserve it. I left 2 negatives this morning and filed FVFs on them also. I hope I have done my part in having them removed from eBay. If you don't do this the feedback system will not work. Leaving positive feedback to Everyone and no negatives when deserved is a waste of time.
