Anyone hear get any bizarre "bid change notice" from ebay, except when checking the auction you find out there ARE no cancellations? No bidders have been Naru'd either.

Yep! I had one last week and like you, when I looked at the "bid retractions, etc.", there were none. Kept checking back every now and then, but still no change. Bid was good, contact made with winning bidder and all is well! Yep-really weird!
