Tried to add shipping weight to item using the "Add to Item Description" feature on a listing that had a bid and found this is no longer possible. Anyone know why this is so because while I know you could not change the description before I remember you could add something could add something including additional pics. Not so now.

I added to several of my descriptions today, but you can't do it if the auction is closing in the next 12 hours, maybe that was the problem.

No! listing closes on 7/9. Page comes up showing that I cannot add if there is a bid or if listing closes in the next 12 hrs. I can only change the category.

I just tried to add to one of mine and it was okay to do so.
That was through this webpage of course:

Just tried again and it apparently worked, but this Am, got no results. Wonder why they have you click revise underneath item #, when revise is not what one is doing and is in fact disallowed if there is a bid.

"Page comes up showing that I cannot add if there is a bid or if listing closes in the next 12 hrs."

It does say that, however you can still add to your listings if they are more than 12 hours out. I'm not sure why it is worded like that

Once a bid is made the dynamics of the auction change. To be fair to any bidders that have placed a bid, eBay makes certain the seller is incapable of changing the original description but does allow the seller to add info about the aution at the bottom of the auction.
