Got this of of the ebay board, passing it along.
Just visited PayPal site to get record of payment from buyer. Greeted with a "new feature". Just add this PayPal feature and at end of auction, you will get e-mail with your total. O.K. ...I disabled the feature to have PayPal notify my bidders because the shipping costs can't be itemized in auction. But this new thingie is another hurdle.
I think I'm going to have to add a line to my auctions telling bidders not to make a payment until they contact me regarding shipping costs. Maybe some of the rest of you who take PayPal might want to do it too.
I can just hear the whining now - "But, I paid the invoice PayPal sent me. I PAID!!! and now the seller won't ship!"
Maybe time to write PayPal a nice little thank you note for messing things up even more in addition to Post Office

I talked to a friend yesterday Re: shipping charges. He has been shipping everything via FedEx Ground. Has a minimum charge of $5.00 for shipping & if the weight over 5 lbs., he uses the Zone 8 charge for every lb over 5. Has never had a complaint. May be the way to go. He has over 600 pos. fdbcks.

the way I read the new feature on paypal, you had to opt in to use it not opt out.
what's the problem if you didn't choose to accept that option? I don't see where the problem is with these sites offering new features, we are not forced to use them.
