Hello,
I got a package returned to me from usps with "unclaimed" stamped all over it. I contacted the buyer an he says he never got a notice. I contacted the postoffice in his town and they said his route had a very good carrier and that he was contacted three times to pick up package(he lives in an apartment).

The buyer at first wanted me to just reship it to him with no mention of the new shipping chargers(about 10.00). I wrote him back and told him he would have to pay shipping charges to resend and that he should contact his post office about any issues he has with them. He wrote back and said he would send out money order(original payment was paypal). That was about three weeks ago and no shipping payment has been received. I have not had any new email from him either. Any suggestions??

THanks!

camodog,
he's not gonna sent it---you know that. Tell him you will refund his money minus s/h charges and how sorry you are the transaction could not be completed.

Hi,
We have had 4 or 5 "unclaimed" packages in the past 2 weeks. They all insist that they were there for delivery and got no notice. On guy even left a negative saying we had not shipped. Not one of them wants to pay return postage.

there was a thread some time back about this. a few people said that if you take it to the PO with his email showing his address, they may reship it at no extra charge. Just tell the people at the PO that they were not notified.

when I check my DC and it state that it has been in the right city but undelivered, I email the buyer and have them check their post office.

I am a part time seller so I am able to do this. For sellers running hundreds of auctions at any given time, this would not be feasible.

This is what happens:

Mail carrrier delivers the package, but the customer is not home. So the mail carrier brings the package to the local post office where the customer is supposed to pick it up.

But the customer receives no notice about the package, and so it just sits there at the post office. After so much time, they return it to the sender.

We had several packages delivered to us at our appartment complex while we were on vacation. We were only gone for 1 week and when we returned home we had several delivery notices in our mailbox but management informed us that they had been returned to sender.
