WHEN THERE IS A PROBLEM DOWN THE ROAD OR ONE OF A MILLION OTHER REASONS TO LOCATE THIS SITUATION I WILL LINE UP ALL MY E MAILS TO READ ALL THE SUJECT LINES AND WHAT WILL I SEE AFTER 100 OF THEM? "GOOD NEWS". I E MAILED E BAY ABOUT THIS. YOU NEED TO ALSO.

ALL OF THEM NEED ONLY ONE THING WE ARE IN NEED OF IN ONE WAY OR ANOTHER,,,,,,THE NUMBER, THE E BAY LISTING NUMBER. WHAT GOOD ARE ALL THESE SUBJECT LINES READING GARBAGE RIGHT OFF THE BAT. THE NUMBER IS WHAT I WANT TO SEE SO I CAN LINE UP MY SUBJECT LINE IN MY E MAIL AND FIND THAT AUCTION NUMBER. DOES THIS MAKE SENSE? SURE IT DOES E MAIL E BAY AND TELL THEM.

Jack: I hate the new auction notices too. We have a script that generates invoices based on eBay's EOAs and of course the new ones are totally non-compliant.
They don't even look good in an HTML reader.
I don't know whose brilliant idea it was to change the EOA format, but they should be shot.

I just got my first winning notice from Ebay in the new format, and I loved it! I went to checkout, told the buyer I would use Paypal and sent shipping information, then went to Paypal and all this in less than a minute.
No messing around with individual checkouts or trying to figure out what I bought. All links worked great and I really thought it was a huge improvement -- of course that is from the buyers view, not the seller. I haven't sold anything since May (not listing for the summer) so haven't had a chance to see. I don't rely on Ebays EOA for selling anyway as the service I use builds invoices after the auction closes and I just use those.

WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT MY THOUGHT? START OUT THE MESSAGE WITH THE NUMBER. THE NUMBER IS "THE" MOST IMPORTANT THING DON'T YOU THINK?

Jack: Agreed, the auction number is the most important bit of data.
Lindajean: Just shows to go ya. We don't use Checkout, PayPal *or* any auction management service or software. We've got tons of computers, so we run our own servers and homegrown s/w. Only about 450 auctions open this week, but I've been slacking because the weather is so nice.

Just another example of Ebay making "improvements" that we don't need and actually impair our efficiency. The new end of auction emails don't bother me so much, as I routinely delete them; they have always been near useless to me. The only good thing about getting them is to let me know that I need to contact a buyer, but that's about it. Same goes for the new "my ebay" sellers page, which will STILL not load up when I try to access it, just times out again and again.
I am also amazed that I haven't seen more complaints about the new pages on this board. The new "my ebay" sellers page, when you can get to it, has eliminated the auction starting dates on closed, sold, and unsold auctions. I don't know how the rest of you do it, but I need that info for relisting, to figure out if I need to change the duration from 5 days to 7, or vice versa. As it is now, I am going to have to hand edit about 200 auctions a week for relisting due to this. Not an "improvement" at all.
Jackswebb, I appreciate what you are saying, but it has always seemed that Ebay just doesn't care. I have repeatedly done the email merry-go-round with them and all I ever get is that any current problem just HAS to be my fault. Unresponsive doesn't even begin to describe their customer service.

THEY SEEM TO REPLY WITH A REAL PERSON TO ME. [email protected]. THEY DON'T REALLY KNOW IF YOU ARE A POWER SELLER OR NOT BUT IF YOU HAVE THE ADDRESS YOU MUST KNOW SOMETHING. BTW,,,,I JUST HIT 900!!!!! YEHAA! THAT MEANS I REALLY HAVE SOLD AROUND 4000 THINGS. HAHAHAH. AND MUCH MORE THAN THAT.
