tell me what I can do about a seller that is crooked. I was the next bidder on an item. so I had thought I lost it. the seller contacted me and said the winning bidder backed out of the deal. So I said ok and would send out money. the next day i sent out money and emailed him the moneys on the way he emailed back and said no deal because I didnt give him my shipping address in the email. he never sent back my money and when contacting the winning bidder he stated he sent him his money and received his item after a hassle with the seller. He sent his payment out registered. I didnt. can I report him as a fraudulent seller even if I wasnt the high bidder.

You might get a little help from e-bay if you have all the e-mails to send along to safeharbor but they won't help you get your money back. Put a stop payment on whatever you sent to him if it isn't to late and pull his contact infor and call him up. If he does not cooperate do not hesitate to contact his local police department as this is mail fraud and is a prosecutable offense.

Email the seller and let him know that if he doesn't immediately refund your money that you will file a mail fraud complaint against him.

1. YOUR DEAL HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH E BAY. IT NEVER HAPPENED IN THEIR MIND (E BAY). THEY WARN YOU AGAINST THAT VERY THING.
2. POLICE? HAHAHAHHAHA.
3. HE DIDN'T SEND ANYTHING FRAUD THROUGH THE MAIL. MATTER OF FACT HE NEVER SENT ANYTHING.
YOU GAVE HIM YOUR MONEY WILLINGLY. HE IS KEEPING IT. GOOD LUCK TO EVER SEE IT.
YOU SAY YOU SENT OUT MONEY,,,,,,,HOW? CASH? IF IT WAS A CHECK, DO CANCEL IT. HOW MANY FEEDS DID THIS SELLER HAVE AND HOW MUCH DID YOU SEND?
AFTER READING THIS AGAIN, THAT CHECK IF IT WAS A CHECK HAS LONG SINCE BEEN CASHED, CORRECT?

be carful if you try to badmouth him with his bidders,as this would be auction interruptions and ebay will penalise you.
how about bidding on another of his item of comparable amount and said now send me the goods else i will report you.

I don't know if this applies!
Maybe you could report him for selling item off auction, that was listed on Ebay!
They may interpret it as Fee Avoidance?
Good Luck!
Also hope you kept some Email proof of him offering it off auction.
Send it in get him canned!!

I think the stickdad might have this one right. It sounds like it didn't go through ebay's offer program but straight through e-mail. If this were to happen to me, I would get myself a deadbeat account and bid on a few of this guy's items and make damm sure to leave proper feedback on this transaction. This type of practice is bad for all involved with online auctions and is also illegal.
Did you save the e-mail? You should forward it to his local police. I am willing to bet they would have a nice chat with your so called friend.
