IT'S ONLY AS GOOD AS THE PERSON YOU ARE SELLING FOR. TRUST. PAPERS MEAN NOTHING. BETTER HAVE THAT THING IN YOUR HAND THOUGH.
IF THEY DON'T UNDERSTAND THE AUCTION PROCESS,,,,,,,,PASS. THIS IS NOT A FREE LIST WHEN THEY DON'T SEE THE MILLIONS THEY EXPECTED EITHER. UNLESS THEY GIVE YOU LOTS TO SELL.
THEY NEVER SEEM TO MENTION ANYTHING ABOUT ANY FEES AFTER THE WIDGET DON'T SELL. IT'S LIKE THANKS FOR TRYING. HA! WHERE ARE THE LISTING FEES? YOUR THE ONE WHO WANTED ME TO START IT AT $1000.00 WITH A RESERVE AND 10 PICTURES. THEY BID IT UP TO $130.00 THAT WAS IT. E'R AACTUALLY THEY NEVER EVEN BID ON IT.
I STILL GOT A BILL FROM E BAY AND GOD KNOW AT THOSE REDICULOUS FIGURES IT'S A BUNCH. THE DREAMERS,,,,,THEY THINK ALL THEIR STUFF IS BIG MONEY ON E BAY. KNOW THAT PERSON VERY WELL.

Here are several discussions about selling on consignment. It very much depends on the expectations of the person you are selling for. I prefer to buy outright and sell on my terms at my own leisure but I know that some people can do consignment quite successfully.

It's best to sell only for friends that way you know them well enought to explain the in's and out's.
I've sold a few item's for friends and even though they understood, they still seemed surprised as to what they ended up with after all the expences were paid.
They don't understand that every click of the mouse these day's puts someones hand in your pocket!

I've sold on consignment for a couple years and it has worked well for me.
I have only done it for a couple close friends and family members.
I charge 50% of the final bid price. I pay all the fees and do all the shipping. I usually will state on consignment fees that I charge a $1 handling fee, and nobody seems to have a problem with this. That way, it helps to defray my expenses.
I say go for it but, only do it for people that you know and trust and vice versa.
