Hi, all: I launched a couple of relists nearly two hours ago and the items aren't appearing yet in Search. I think I've seen this complained about before, here. Does this happen all the time?
Trouble is, I launched them to end at 7 p.m. PDT, and now I've essentially lost an evening's viewing by most of the country.
If this is common, please let me know. Doesn't seem right!

I do not know what ebay considers "normal" reindexing time. But I normally launch at 7:05 pm and most of the time they do not show up in a search for 4 - 5 hours.
I asked ebay once about this and was told it can take up to 24 hours.

Your auction won't even show up in the category listing for at least an hour, and in some cases up to two hours. It takes longer for them to get indexed in search. Usually 4 or 5 hours. If you list on Thursday night, and listing volume is heavy, it may not show up in search until Saturday morning because of the Friday maintainance period.
The light at the end of the tunnel will turn out to be an oncoming train.

Geeeeeez. You know, that really stinks! They're essentially stealing hours and hours from our listing time. Wish I knew what we could do about it.
All this time that I've been selling on ebay, I have never searched officially for my auctions right away, and this time I did it only because I wanted to be sure the picture previews were on the big page. Live and learn.
