anyone know of a service that would prevent those annoying popup screens (usually advertising JUNK that you don't need) from coming onto your screen (preferably a free one)?

Correction http://www.proxyconn.com this is an accelerator plus it has the option to block popups. I have used it for a week and it works great. It is free for a trial then they have a small fee but it is worth it.
