Clutterpie.com is proud to announce our first public debate.

The Subject is to be:

Why the Current Ebay Business Model is Doomed to Failure for Most Independent Sellers and Perhaps to the Company Itself?

I am to debate the subject, and will be issuing an open Challenge to Meg Whitman and Ebay to defend the question.

If Ebay refuses we will accept Applications from interested parties to defend.

This is a clean debate. One Hour Time Limit with the defender being able to choose the debate to be decided by Judge(s) or Jury. (User Poll)

The date will be Thursday August 8th at 9:00 PM EST here on Clutterpie.com

See you there!

Meg isn't going to debate you, you knew that before you posted this. If you didn't know that before you posted it you might have a problem.

EBay's business model is VERY successful, if you don't know that you might be out of touch with the internet economy.

Well, I don't think I'm crazy. And you're right. I don't expect Meg to accept the debate.

She does have an awful lot more to lose than I do. I'm sure some brave knight will champion her name though.

I believe in the arguements and evidence I am prepared to share in the debate.

Not before.

Explain, please. Do you consider yourself in the same leagues as Meg?

Hi Kiara,

Yes, we are both Mammals. We are both human beings with human feelings, wants, and desires.

Just because she runs a larger company doesn't make her a better person.

She may have more skills and experiance than I do, but she still poops like the rest of us, and I can assure you her poop doesn't smell any better than yours or mine.

That is a really stupid answer, Canvid.

She runs an empire, you do not. She is above you also, I don't think she would talk like a mere peon.

This is how you represent your company? And you honestly think she would take time out to hobnob with the likes of you?

Kiara are you for real? Your last post reads like a Sci Fi b film from the 50's.

Empire? Hardly. A very large and currently very succesful company yes. Maybe Meg wants an empire and if she is allowed to purchase Paypal you may in fact be right?

She's only a human being like you and I Kiara.

Really, honest, I'm not fibbing, I promise.

And I'm sure that Meg would in fact tell you so too.

Lets just assume nobody picks up your gauntlet. Are you going to declare you've proved eBay's business model is doomed?

He will probably put out a press release stating Ebay's Meg Whitman fears the upshot auction site that is going to take a chunk of the market share

Pclady:

Meg has nothing to fear of li'l ol me.

She only has to fear the Online Auction Community of Bidders and Sellers.

I've just finished reading The Perfect Store and have been an online bidder first, and then seller since '98.

I've seen a lot of change and a lot of things happen.

Am I goofy to think that I by myself can change our industry? I don't think so.

But you and I could if we had thousands of others who wanted to see some change.

My challenge is in good faith and legitimate.

I only wish to discuss issues germane to the topic of the challenge in the debate.

As for the other question I bet someone will Champion Meg if she chooses not to debate me.

I know I wouldn't debate me if I were her, but she does have a large company with I'm sure the right person to take on the debate. If she did choose to debate me it would surely be an ego issue with herself. But the challenge is made to her as the Chief of Ebay.

And if not within the company I'm sure there are some very fervant Ebay believers that will proove me wrong and give me a good butt whuppin!

Jaime, you're wrong right off the bat.

Meg is not a mammal. ( I don't know what she is )

Before she shows up, why not fix your auctionpie web site so she doesn't have to spend her debate time explaining the concept of clickable links to you.

It seems as though the message board has gone about a month without the obligatory call to arms against eBay. Glad to see we're on schedule.

Kiara are you for real?

Yeah, I am real.

The reality is that Meg has the power. Meg has the money. She is not concerned about you or your dreams.

I think that you just showed up here to draw attention to your own site.

What a great way to advertise. Come to a board where sellers and buyers air out their problems and concerns about eBay. Clutterpie isn't dumb and maybe somethings might change. I doubt it. The reason Meg and eBay are so popular is because there isn't another site that has the power to advertise like they do. They have a great business going, but, if they try and weed out the small seller I think their popularity will dwindle. Fees are getting higher, stock market dropping. There is something wrong with that picture. Maybe it is time someone challanges eBay and I hope it brings some favorable results. Good Luck

No advertising here Stusi,

We simply are posting our challenge like we have on many other boards.

I think when I read this thread I see most of the reasons why we may never have an alternative to ebay. Fortunately these opinions are not in the majority.

Whether you like my company or myself at least I am trying to make a difference.

What are some of you doing??

No advertising here Stusi,

It is a round-about way of advertising and you know it is, canvid. Why don't you just be real and come out and say it like it is?

I hope you mean it is/was very successful for the executives and those early employees that got options.

eBay has produced a lot of multi-millionaires. Unfortunately, they have all been through stock options and not through selling on eBay. This should tell all sellers something.

Jamie, you're also posting here under the ID barncards1. I'm sure you know that's a violation of CGs. You were banned here once for spamming. You know very well that as a company rep (owner of Clutterpie), you shouldn't come here with "announcements" regarding your new chat site, unless you've received permission from Diana. Everything about you and this thread is rude and abusive. I'm sure you'll be telling everyone Meg was "afraid" to debate you. Take your spam elsewhere. Get a freaking life, loser.

Folks we aren't talking about our product.

I shared out challenge.

I did the same thing on Ebay and they deleted the thread after 80 posts including two from a pink named MAEVE.

No warning, email, nada.

They just made it go poof!

So much for community.

The fact that you've spammed several message boards hardly makes this more newsworthy.

Thank you for he most entertaining thread I've read in months. I just about fell out of my chair laughing.

She may have more skills and experiance than I do, but she still poops like the rest of us, and I can assure you her poop doesn't smell any better than yours or mine.

Now that's logical.

<but she still poops like the rest of us, and I can assure you her poop doesn't smell any better than yours or mine.<canvid13>>

And your poop smells no better than Hitler's or that child molester in California.

So, what are you trying to say? That you are the only Nazi, child-molester auctioneer on the web?

O.K., I won't argue with you. I will concede to your logic. But, I don't understand why you are proud of that distinction.
