eBay will allow in the item description ...
"to view my other listings, go to www.auctionwatch/mystore.com"? Just asking for clarification before I try it and get my eBay auctions pulled off. Thanks so much!

Thanks for all the responses. Knowing eBay policies about linking, the following FAQs for the AW Store section caused my confusion:

FAQ: How do I include my Store address in my auction listings?

AW Answer: All open Storesare automatically promoted within each auction listing created using any AuctionWatch listing tool - Sales Manager, Online Inventory, or Sales Manager Pro.

When you're creating your auction listing, simply refer to your Store web address in the item description. For example, text such as "To see all of my other auctions, go to wwww.auctionwatch.yourStorename.com".

FAQ: Is my Store compliant with eBay's regulations regarding links including in auction listings?

AW Answer: Yes. Your Store link goes directly to your homepage, which only features eBay listings. Therefore your Store is in complete compliance with eBay's listing regulations.

AW and eBay seem to contradict each other on this issue. Thanks again!

There appears to be a shift in eBay's linking policy enforcement. In the past they were fairly vigilant in closing down any violators that were reported to them but now they seem to have given up on all the manpower required to do so.

Here's an expample with a large clickable Bidville banner that eBay no longer seems to care about ...

I just visited that site and I bet that is against eBays rules. Not only a link to other auctions but the size of the box. Aren't we limited to the size when we have a PayPal logo? I know that some have tried a larger PayPal logo and had to remove it. I find it hard to believe that eBay would allow going to another auction site to promote their sales.

That's just it. For at least a couple of weeks now eBay has not responded to the violator's that are turned in via the 'Contact Customer Support' function. Not just Bidville but any site.
This was not the case before. Most violators had their auctions pulled within a day.
Maybe eBay doesn't care about linking violations any more or the cost of policing the violators is too prohibitive.

Technically it is against ebay's rules, but now that safeharbor is closed, no one at ebay enforces the rules. What has happened since is a major infultration of links and offers to sell other items off of ebay. Guess I would like to see safeharbor reinstated to clean up ebay. And the biggest violators are the powersellers so you can bet that ebay will do nothing to clean it up.

A search of the word "bidville" in title and description yields 45 hits. A few weeks ago it was rare to get even 1 hit. Last week it was 5 or 6 hits. The flood gates are open for sign post auctions.

Sign Posts
eBay does not permit listings that are primarily used to direct a user to a seller's other listings or storefront. These types of listings are referred to as "signposts".

Policy: Sign Post listings are not permitted and will be ended. The insertion fee will be automatically credited for that listing.

Links Policy

Summary: The eBay item page can only be used to describe, promote and facilitate the sale of the listed eBay item - it cannot refer to or promote the seller's individual web site, off eBay sales or other businesses. The eBay About Me page is a place where the seller can promote their individual web site or business.

If a competitor turns you in and they are diligent about reporting you, then ebay may reprimand you. Otherwise who is looking?
