I have TOO many shipping peanuts. Unfortunately I am not selling enough to warrent my keeping all of these BAGS and BOXES of peanuts I have stored in my house. They are everywhere now: in the garage (which is filled to capacity anyway), in my computer room, down the hall starting at the front door. I just have too many.
Any ideas of what I can do with them? I don't have alot of money, I was thinking of selling them for $2 a garbage (lawn leaf size) bag full. Is that too much? too expensive? (I do have to pay for the garbage bags that I filled)
Any thoughts on this are GREATLY appreciated

I just looked up the cost in the Uline catalog. 7 cu ft bag, 1 bag =$16.00 12 bags=$12.00 per bag. 20 cu ft bag = $29.00. They have other types & prices. How many cu ft in a garbage bag?

Oh Geez, I dont know. I have two boxes of the bags that I used: one says 33 gallons and the other says 39 gallons. How do I tell?

Most large garbage bags will be 3-5 cf. If your gonna sell them check on shipping. May be considered "oversize."

I think I did check on shipping before and it is about $5.00 or more to ship them. I don't think it would be worth it to ship them. Maybe I can get rid of them locally? I live in the san francisco peninsula area

Ah Paloma, my little dove. If you were just a little closer, I would be glad to haggle with you. But alas, I am 275 miles south of SF. I just knew you were in CA. Paloma gave you away.

sanmar, and HOW pray tell did the name paloma give me away???? You must be in So cal on the coast, I bet! OR atleast central cal Well, heck, make a trip up in a BIG truck. I bet I could supply you with enough peanuts to last you a year!
You think $2.00 a bag is a fair price??? I hope so. IF you all agree that it is, then maybe I could put a list up somewhere like craigslist or the pennysaver to get rid of them. (Actually, I already have it listed on craigslist but no one has responded)

I saw those a few weeks ago. Check out the shipping. $11.00 and who is buying them? No one. See my point? I think it would be better if I sold them locally. HUMMMMM How to get the word out????

Do you have access to a shopper newspaper? You know whatI mean? We have one called Easy Ad, has all kinds of odds & ends for sale plus pets, garage, yard sales etc. As you knopw "Paloma" means dove in Spanish. My brother lives in LA & had a purebred English cocker #*!@, whose name was Paloma. Sorry I don't mean to infer you are any way relaed. Yes I am on the Centrak
coast,Santa Maria.

Paloma: I'd buy them in a second, at $2 a bag. Do you go to any regularly-held auctions in your area? Sell them to some of the folks there, many of whom undoubtedly sell on the internet. Or put a note on a widely-read bulletin board. Or find a user group of internet sellers in your area and send them a note. There has to be a way to unload those wonderful peanuts. I envy you.
How about a swap meet?

JACKSWEBB, I don't know what you mean by, "I CANNOT BELIEVE THIS,,,,,,,,SELL E'M ON E BAY! UNREAL!"
I am sorry but I was asking for feedback on this dilema I am having. It might seem petty to you but I appreciate all the feedback I have been getting on this. The last time I checked, it didnt seem worth it to sell this stuff online. No one seemed to be able to sell it on Ebay. It looked like it was more trouble than it was worth. After listing my concern here, I am starting to give it a second look!
Sanmar, thanks for the ideas. I will look into them. I already have them listed in our shopper throw away. Hopefully someone will see it. And also, I figured you were in the central coast of CA by your id: sanmar. Yes, I did know paloma meant dove, that is why I picked it. Ok, so it's a Calif. Thing. What can I say. (grin)
Thanks so much everyone! It is greatly appreciated. If anyone is located near san francisco, CA or will be coming this way soon and wants some peanuts, let me know! i JUST set up an email add for it. [email protected] (Hopefully some one will want atleast one bag - then maybe I can get in my front door without jumping over them!)

Timetravelers, what a GREAT IDEA! I can call up a bunch of them before I go down there. There is even an antique co-op near by that has ALOT of sellers in it! thanks so much!
Roadsmith, I am also going to use your idea of putting up some signs for these. Maybe the best place to do that would be at the co-op Thanks
