I have checked through the previous links and cannot find one that pertains to this, so I apologize if this is a duplicate. This auction is a first for me where the winning bidder with a perfect feedback of 135 shows to be non-registered. This auction closed ealier this afternoon, and, up to now when I got the winning notice, there was no mention of this bidder being non-registered. I have not sent an email other than the automatic "winner" message. What have you done, if anything?

as far as i know you are under no obligation to complete the transaction since the buyer is not registered. you also can not leave feedback for this person either since they are no longer registered.

Thanks for the info, but how can they be registered- you have to be to bid, but then all of a sudden-AFTER the auction is over- they aren't?

Just curious to learn is all..

I would guess that someone filed a Non-Paying Bidder with Ebay on them right after your auction closed, and if this is their third one then they become automatically non-registered. This may save you a lot of pain. You can offer it to the next highest bidder or relist it instead of dealing with a deadbeat bidder.

My guess would be that eBay's end of auction notice to him bounced back, probably due to an email address change that he didn't bother to update them with. If they tried to re-send it, and it still comes back as " unknown user", they would suspend him for invalid contact info. Email him with an EOA and see what happens.




The light at the end of the tunnel will turn out to be an oncoming train.

You used an automated WBN. Shame on you. E-mail directly and give all proper info that way.

I believe sparkz stated the probable cause. Many ebayers, especially buyers, change email addresses and do not give it a thought as to what happens when they buy something on ebay. The email bounces on the seller, the seller turns it in to ebay, the email bounces for ebay and the user is NARUed. I had a buyer with 149 rating with no negatives get tossed for that reason and it took her two weeks to get reinstated.
Another problem is that many previously exclusive Half buyers are now because of all the auction linking are winning Buy It Now items on ebay and they are not in the habbit of dealing with EOA and "Congratulations you won my auction" letters. They hit the BIN and pay will Billpoint, which is very similar to buying something on Half, and they want no part in writing back and forth with an individual seller.

How about the reverse situation? Is the NARU buyer still obligated to complete the purchase with the seller?

I agree with that. A problem may arise when the NARUed user is reinstated. Now the user must complete any previous transactions.

Nobody gives a crap what you think anymore, caffeitalia, especially when it comes to feedback or automated email systems.
