I received an email from eBay to update my billing information and it was included with a confirmation notice about responding to a survey. The link to update the eBay billing information goes somewhere in angelfire. Although the eBay logo is displayed, the program is http and not secure using https. So I'm very suspicious about providing my credit card #, my driver's license #, my social security #, etc. And if I wanted to update my eBay billing information, I would do it myself. SO WAZ UP WITH DAT?

It's just another scam-of-the-week attempt to get all the information that is needed for someone to steal your identity and drive you into bankruptcy or a mental institution. With the information they are requesting, they could open dozens of charge accounts in your name, max them all out and dissapear, leaving you with the job of trying to clear your name, which may be impossible. Report this scam to ebay immediately!!

The light at the end of the tunnel will turn out to be an oncoming train.

I would also write a email to my ISP and also to the ISP of the person that sent you that email. I think if you write to Abuse@(whatever the email address is} will get their attention. Look at the headers and see where it came from then sent it back % of Abuse. They won't be there to long though as these people hit and run fast in hopes that nobody can get them.

My brother recently recieved the same kind of email from Payapl.....it was a hoax!! The people who pull these scams are so far in Cyberspace they are almost never found and prosecuted. Ebay will never email you for personal information...
