Can any Melmac experts help me identify this pattern? Pictured is a plate...has floral pattern. Also, there's nothing on the bottom of the plate except a small #2. Does the name "Melmac" show up on "real" Melmac? Thanks for any help..As always, it's appreciated!

Blueeyes, I'm certainly not an expert on Melmac, but what I have had (or seen) was marked, but I won't say it all was.

Had some wonderful Jewel Tea "Autumn Leaf" years ago - went for more than the china versions!

i am from the melmac era...you could buy a service for 4...in a cardboard sleeve covered with plastice....for a grand total of $2.99.

many of the pieces i still have laying around have only numbers...mold numbers..on the bottom of them.

but at that time we called all plastic dishes melmac...which may have been one brand name.

it was about the same as calling all dark soda pop coke.

You might find this helpful. From this address you can find more information on Melmac. The plate that you show seems almost new. The patterns from the 50's are not bright and are turuoise, pink with the same color designs

Thanks, all, for the info...will check out the links. Libra...the photo only MAKES the dish appear "newer"...(my Mavica takes GREAT pics!)...actually, the dishes do show some wear and are obviously from an earlier era! Thanks again...AW-ers are TERRIFIC!
