I received a payment from a customer today, that sent cash via snailmail. I think they soaked the bills in some STINKY perfume. UGH! I think I'm going to go throwup now. Just thought I would share

Spend it fast! Pass it on!

I get some like that in my till at work also and I swear they soaked it in some stinky perfume oil. The smell can linger for days.

Be careful if you put it in your purse or wallet because it can smell it up also. Money is really filthy and dirty anyways but if you ignore that aspect it is great to own.

Maybe just Maybe they have a husband like mine. Everyone once in a while I see him come to my ebay room with room deodorant. I tell him NO! bidders don't like the smell of perfume or room deodorant on their purchases and also they might be allergic to what every your going to spray. How many times do I have to tell him before I snap his hands off.

Cash it fast and from now on block the bidder.

Block the bidder?

I would never refuse money. Trust me, some of it has stuff on it that doesn't smell and can be much more harmful.

Libra, please tell me you are joking!!! Block a bidder for smelly cash??? SEND IT TO ME, SMELLY OR NOT!!!!!

That has to be the silliest suggestion I have seen on these boards in a long time.

Do not blame the bidder. I was with a woman whose bottle of perfume opened in her purse. All her checks were soaked, money, everything. And doesn't go away quickly.

Plus some people think it "cute" to scent their "correspondence", but overdo it.

You can make fun of that all you want, but some people are allergic to perfumes or room deodorant. I have seen allergic reactions turn deadly....

I am allergic to some perfumes also but I wouldn't block a bidder for something like this.

If they bid on an auction again I think it would be kinder to mention to them not to send cash with perfume on it because of an allergy. Or get a friend or family member to open that letter because you would be forewarned the second time.

The bidder may turn out to be an excellent customer and wouldn't even have a clue why they were blocked.

One time a kid bought something and paid with cash he had kept in his sneaker. Now, that was worse than any perfume but I took it also.
