OK... I read the board here daily. When did ebay change this. Or is it my missing something.
I mistakenly put $54.50 for shipping. It should read $5.50. Of course someone emailed me telling me I was crazy. So no big deal, I can revise it. NO BIDS YET. So i click revise this item. And I can add a description but I can not revise it to say $5.50 so it don't look like I am a total rip off.
This item is a 7 day auction just listed last night, launched via AW.
I was on the item and clicked on revise this item and followed it that way. Is there a NEW way to do this?
PLEASE help!
Thanks!

You should be able to revise it, and by clicking on 'revise' on the auction page.
Probably on of those 'temporary glitches' that eBay is famous for.
The exceptions are if there is a bid, or in the last 12 hours.

They did change the look of the revise page you will have to scroll down to the bottom of the page and under the heading picture and details that is where you can revise the price.

My only other thought is that a bid came in while you were going through the process of revising (or attempting to)?

Raidrgrl, I thought maybe that was what was happening, but when I re-read the original post, he said he could add to the description....which you can do if there is a bid...you just can't change (revise) anything that's already there. So I thought that must not be it.
But that might be the problem.
Which is it Richie?....can you revise, or only add to?

Try it again now. I listed an item and then had to revise it immediately after. I noticed some message about not being able to change some attributes. But I just checked again and the message is not there, and I can change the opening bid.

I want to change -REVISE - the description.
I just launched last night. Still not bids ( and with $54.50 shipping) it will never get one. LOL!
It is a new form.
I click revise item on the item auction listing.
You get a revise auction screen that comes up with the item number in it, click the button.
takes you to Revise Your Item: Review & Submit Listing screen -
WOW... ebay is working on this!
NOw it saiys edit description...e little early it only said add to your description!
THANKS everyone...but watch these changes are coming...I see it in the crystal ball.

OH MY GOSH! I need new glasses!
When I first was trying to do this - the item I was trying to revise was launched 7 days ago! It is in it's final 12 hours...that's the problem. See I have another like it that I launched last night and I ...well, I assumed...it was the one launched last night.
SHAME on me!
Thanks everyone! Next time I will check everything for accuracy before I come here and cry for help.

We used to be able to ADD to description (but not change it) after a bid was placed. For instance, you wanted to add that you were including a bonus item with your auction. It would throw it down at the bottom where they might not read it, but it was there.
I am sure you can't do it anymore. Very frustrating.

I recently had to end a listing early. It had no bids and none of the canned reasons that eBay provides described the reason why it had to be ended.
I was able to add the reason at the bottom of the listing so all the lookers could see why it was ended early. Then I ended it and relisted it.
Simple things are much harder to do on eBay these days, and when they eliminate the option to use the "old help system", it will be almost impossible

If you list through AW you have to go to Sales Manager and click on item then revise this way. No problem.

Ebay has changed the format & made it easier. I just had to revise 2 auctions that I listed on Monday night. I had missplelled SOUP by adding an additional P,(SPOUP) It was very easy. I went to My Ebay pulled up the auction & hit revise. Very easy from there on.

Easier my ass. It takes so long now to do anything with the new 2.0. Unless you have DSL or Cable modem, it is worthless. The page loads take forever. On average it used to take me 90 seconds to list an item. No it is over 5 minutes. Nothing more frustrating than having to wait for page loads after page loads to do simple things.
