Hi,

I noticed that someone has created a slanderous and libelous thread here on AW.

For those mentally gifted people that do that sort of thing I just wanted to share how S&L work.

You are allowed to share your opinions.

You can say that you think Miss X is a boogerhead.

However you cannot say that Miss X is in fact a boogerhead unless you have proof.

If you make statements like that you can be sued.

Tragically, most mentally gifted people that make these statements don't have anything worth sueing for as they collect odd bits of string and brightly colored pebbles when not spouting crap on messageboards.

This message is brought to you by Auctionpie.com and the letter 7.

Rather than sue that silly person, why not bite him instead?

Oh no, not the lawyers!

Jamie, could you be a little bit more specific? There are so many to choose from......

RB, long before L&O's Det. Briscoe, what did Shakepeare have to say about the lawyers?

Direct us to what thread it is? How can you sue if you don't know who the person is?

canvid You are allowed to share your opinions.

I think your efforts of advertising your site are sad, and I think that is all you are about. The 'announcement' of challenging Meg Whitman to a debate was a silly stunt to draw attention to your site. You even admitted you didn't expect Meg to accept such a challenge.

Since that debate stunt worked so well in drawing attention to you and your site maybe on the next debate you should challenge George Bush, or Alan Greenspan.

I think your efforts of advertising your site are sad, and I think that is all you are about.

Hey, your opinions are yours. I respect your right to have them and I expect the same respect for the same rights back.

Just because you think something is something doesn't make it so.

If you don't like me or my company why on earth do you post in my threads or in threads about myself or company?

Doesn't this simply make you look like a moron?

It's a free world ladies and gents. There is free speech. Enjoy it.

However there are laws about certain forms of speech.

So endeth the sermon for this hour.

Doesn't this in fact make you the alleged Spammers?

I'm still waiting for the lawyers, hoping and hoping that we'll get Judge Judy

The thread in question, I believe, has something to do with the word "HOAX". Have a read and see if you can determine, beyond any doubt, who or whom this thread refers to. I don't recall seeing any specific references to anyone in that thread. The only person who may be able to claim libel (Jamie ... slander refers to what someone might say to your face, not the printed word) would be someone who believes that thread refers to him/her. Could be perceived as paranoia, perhaps?

PS --- great images

PPS --- It's a free world ladies and gents. There is free speech. Enjoy it

I do believe this statement, read in conjuction with the first thread, has created an OXYMORON ...

Don't know. I never could understand that writer. I prefer reading books about quantum physics written by that wheelchair guy.

But, I do have a couple of great lawyer jokes

Ah blueberries.....Have you ever tried to pick them. They are close to the ground, small and it takes a lot to fill a pint. But oh so delicious. They make up for the sore back you have the next day from bending over. Brings back memories of when we as a family picked blueberries. My mother baked the best pies in Minnesota....

I have wild blueberries and teaberries(used during the depression to make ice cream) in the woods behind my house, but for some reason I cant find any Black Raspberries anywhere, and I could kill for a piece of Raspberry pie. Does anyone grow these gems? They are selling at auction for $9.00 a quart too steep for me!!
