I am talking about the "S" word... I got a neutral today and it includes the "S" word.. Is this considered profanity?
I don't mind the neutral, "s" happens... But the items I usually sell are childrens items and I don't really like profanity in my feedback...even borderline words like this. Do you think it may be grounds for removal?

You can try. What's the worse than can happen? All they can do is say, "no."

Is it actually spelled out, or did they substitute a $ or ! to try to get around the rule, like so many do?
If it is spelled out, I would guess that it is unquestionably a vulgarity, but if there is a substituted letter it may be questionable.
But for some reason (maybe an old thread on this board?) it seems to me that in the past, eBay decided that some word was a profanity/obscenity/vulgarity even with the substitute. Does anyone else remember?

It is spelled out correctly, no $ for S... I sure hope they can either remove it or change the word to trash or something... looks bad and I don't want to have to do the private feedback thing until it is properly buried..

If it's spelled out, I'm 99.9% sure eBay will remove it.
Aren't we getting some charming buyers lately? I've had more stupid problems in the last 2-3 weeks than I had had in the last 2-3 years!
I just had to write eBay about one.

It's one of George Carlin's 7 words you can not say on television.

I had a bidder leave neg feedback with a link to another site & ebay removed the feedback totally...

I'm under the impression eBay never 'edits' a feedback; they remove it all or let it stand.

They'll remove it, especially if it's spelled out.
They removed a negative comment from my bidding ID's feedback because the seller posted the initials "BS" in it (seller retaliated for a neutral I left him).
I think it helped that I pointed out that it was common knowledge what "BS" stood for, and that I was embarrassed by the comment.

gc2--I have a hard time remembering yesterday and you want someone to find an old thread.
I think that AW needs to put the function back in where we can search for previous discussions.

I wrote to Powersellers this afternoon and the feeback is gone!
I wonder how long it takes through regular customer support... (I always want to believe there is a reason for even being a Powerseller)

You should send a quick note to the vulger person thanking him/her for being such a lowlife that they can not criticize without vulgarity. They probably do not know that the Neg is gone... The probably never will know.

Nonononononono......
Hope they don't notice it is gone!
If they stay ignorant, they will do it again to someone else - maybe you or me - and we can get it removed!

I believe that the feedback commments people leave say a great deal about the person who writes them. Poor problem solving, anger, immaturity, greed, etc. are often easily recognized. They are transparent through the messages left. Those with cool heads leave cool messages. Those who are spiteful, hateful, etc leave messages of this nature.
Sure, everyone knows what the F word is. It's not nice and noone deserves these types of comments in their feedback. Even if deserved...

SHEEEEIT that's funny. The items you SELL are children's items so you don't like profanity in your feedback? If you sold other items you wouldn't mind? I think you should be more concerned with why you got an F'in neutral!

-stusi- I have all of 11 neutrals and 10 negs out of over 4000 transactions. I don't think I have to be overly concerned about why a newbie bidder with a big 17 feedbacks dislikes my item. I think the feedback numbers tell people how good I am.
I would be fine with keeping the 11th neutral as long as it were G rated. I don't think it needed to be removed, but cleaned up a bit.
If I sold adult items I'd expect adult type feedback from time to time... If I sold used undies I'd expect blue comments. If I sell kids items I expect a non-positive comment to be "All Ages".
I do not sell adult items and want to keep my feedback G rated. Is that so wrong?

IMHO it is extremely naive to think that people would respond verbally according to the type of item they buy. Do you think that if you sold French pottery that people should leave feedback in French? You must be incredibly insecure to think that the language of your feedback reflects on you. Get a Life!

I don't care how I "LOOK", I care that my auctions do not offend potential bidders... is that really so hard to understand? When you offend the customers they tend not to bid. No I don't expect bidders of french pottery to leave fb in french, unless it were to call my items mearde I guess.
