Is there any way some of you can tell from a picture if these are pewter, or a base metal that has lost whatever finish they had?

Or is there some kind of test I can do to tell?

They both say "The Fonz", and I'm calling them pendants, though someone suggested they might be zipper pulls (as on a black leather jacket no less).

All help will be appreciated.

Ed. to add...ah, never mind...( for me)

I don't think they are pewter, to dark. Is there any writing on the back? Pewter is usually marked....

Libra, they have a copyright mark, and "1976 PPG".

I assume the "PPG" is the maker - and probably not Pittsburg Plate Glass.

On second thought, the "G" is questionable - could be a "C" - or even an "O".

It is impressed and tiny - very hard to read. Looks most like a "G", but my eyes aren't all that good any more either.
