I got this in a baggie at a rummage sale along with about 130 patches. The patches are mostly girl and boy scouts from the 1970's. I think it's worthless, but I'm hesitant to throw anything away without being sure first. It's one of those hanging things and you pull the string and the legs "fly" out. Can I junk it or is it called anything (besides junk). Hopefully I can get the image to work.

Its cute! May have been a project a scout made to win a badge. My guess would be from a craft kit of some kind. Might be worth 5-10 bucks or a 100!!!

A lot of Boy Scouts patches can bring a pretty sum as well!

The scout badges are a good find. Should go very well at ebay.
The bird looks like a GoodWill donatable.

The scout badges are all set to go on ebay tonight - 89 boy scout and 50 girl scout. Think I'll junk the bird.

A while ago there was a seller that had an old sash covered with scout merit badges and it went for an incredible amount of money. That's when I learned about the popularity and collectibilty of old scouting items on ebay.

I paid $4.00 for the whole baggie - there were 5 others that I'm listing seperately later on. They only go for a few dollars each, but they aren't scout related. Maybe this will be my "most memorable purchase"

I know this sounds off the wall, but I'd try to sell it on Everything Else in one of their weird categories. Can't hurt to try. Or list it in collectibles under "birds." I'll try almost anything once, unless it's tattered and torn or doesn't work.

Roadsmith is absolutely right!

Everything is worth something and there are a lot of bird collectors out there. I would try it once and if it doesn't sell, you have only lost a few cents.

I have two babies at home who would get a kick out of it. I would buy it for postage +?

The legs should move also when you pull the string. This is called a jumping jack. Check ebay to see what they have.

Very good libra63! You win the "prize". It is a jumping jack! Really old ones go for $30.00-$40.00. Maybe I'll list it and see what happens.
Thanks!!
