what and a**!
Can he / she say "bitching " in the listing?
if she so angry about Int'l bidders who cant read English it doesnt matter how long the explanation is, they still wont be able to read it
probably one of the rudest TOS I have seen.

It is interesting to note that his FB ratio is decent.
He is obviously the type of seller that - if anyone were to mention his angry TOS, he would say that he gets enough business without theirs.
Personally speaking, unless I was desperate for a certain item, I would not bid on his auctions.
I get the impression that if your shipment was unusually long in arriving, he would ignore your e-mails, insult you, and refuse to provide shipping info.
Off topic: I wish he wouldn't use neon green on black background. I'm seeing stripes on my monitor now.

Hey, The guy has a point. I had an auction about 3 months ago that the high bidder was from Singapore. I state very clearly in my TOS, USA only. He doubled negged me for the 2 items I would not sell to him.

Notice there's 2 days left on it and no bids...not that a lot IS selling on eBay right now, but i doubt anyone wants to deal with someone with that kind of TOS.
He has 138 auctions running right now and only a bare few even have one bid. I wonder why. I would no way buy from this guy. He seems like the kind that's so tense that if you had the slightest problem he'd just snap.

At least he is HONEST and UPFRONT, with everything, more then I can say for some auctions.no guessing games.
I would buy from him, I READ it all, and I know that if I place a bid, I need to honor it. *** WISH more buyers did ****
I give alot of information in my TOS, not in a negitive way,{ just stuff that new and old buyers need to know} but I get alot of new buyes, so they have no reason to complain after the auction ends.
Bottom line is ~~ BUYERS do NOT READ !!!~~
Just my 2 cents.

In a way his TOS may seem out of line.
That's because he has the nerve to put it in Black & White.
But I'm sure we all feel the same way.
I understand where he is coming from, for I have had the same problems lately.
And I am not talking International Customers either!!
I've had the same problems with customers right here in the U.S.
It does get to be a bit much!!

Kudos to the seller. He laid it all out. Now bidders do not have anything to beef about. All the sellers auction guidelines are right there. If they do not like any of them they do not have to bid.
To each there own. You are free to list your items any way you choose. If you want to ship to international bidders and deal with dead beats then you are free to put that in your item description, but do not nock this seller for the way he/she does business.

I would buy from this seller if he had anything I wanted. I suspect he would appreciate my business.
Our TOS is not as wordy, but could be described as rude or abrupt. Hasn't stopped anyone, AFAIK, from bidding. Close to 98% sellthrough lately.
I'm processing a huge stack of money orders while reading AW.

Does Fluffy really have a 98% sell through rate or just likes to brag? I just sporadically peruse the Message Center and the last time I glanced there was a similar 98% rate announcement. If so, must be nice.

Oh, I'm sure we all have days when we'd like to browbeat our customers. But is the ad effective at preventing deadbeat bidders, and is it worth discouraging potential paying customers?
I had an old geezer in my store this week. He came in several times. First time, he claimed the calculator he bought seven months ago broke. He wanted a refund/exchange. He never filled out the warranty so he couldn't send it to the manufacturer. No receipt either. I politely told him he was SOL.
He bought a new one (same model), then brought it back. He couldn't figure out how to load the paper roll. He also complained something was "rattling." Turned out to be the ink roll, which he hadn't installed.
Then he came back again. Claimed the calculator wasn't adding up correctly. He didn't like the way the numbers displayed. (Remember, he had used this same model for seven months prior.) All in this frustrating sloooow style that old people have.
Every problem he had was covered in the one-page instruction sheet that came with the calculator. He ended up wasting about a half-hour of my time over a $15 item. I really felt like saying, "Hey, Pops. Read the freaking INSTRUCTIONS whydontcha? "
Perhaps I should warn all my customers before they buy anything. Hey, read the freaking INSTRUCTIONS whydontcha? Yeah, that's the ticket.

It *is* nice, and pretty easily achievable.
I'll even share my secret with you.
Ready? Got a pen and paper?
All set?
Don't tell anyone, but...
If you start your auctions at 1 cent with no reserve, you too can sell close to 100%. Even during the "bad" times. Okay, your sellthrough might then drop to 92 or 93%.
"But I can't do that!" you scream. "What if something actually sells for only 1 cent! AAAAAAAAIEEEE!"
How can this be done profitably? I'll leave that as an exercise for the reader.
I will tell you one other thing, though. If you start running 1CNR auctions, you will develop a loyal cadre of customers, some of whom will check your auction listings constantly looking for deals. If you put jokes and fun stuff in your descriptions, even more people will browse your auction just for the entertainment value. (And by "fun stuff" I do NOT mean cursors that follow you everywhere, blaring MIDI files, rotating cat heads or similar folderol!)
But as we all know, I'm full of it and can't possibly make a living this way (though I do).

I can't imagine anyone really reading all of that run together mess - the colors are terrible and the lack of paragraphs, and indentation is appalling....
BUT THERE IN PROBABLY LAYS THE KEY....the bidder only reads enough to know if it an item they are interested in, and skips the rest as it is so hard to read. I imagine the seller intended it to be such.
Just think how all that negativeness would stand out if they put it in proper paragraphs....!!!!!!
Guess it works for them, but I'd never buy from someone with that type of ad or attitude, I'd presume somewhere along the way there would be a problem.

Fluffy,
Thanks for the 1-cent Auction advice. That was nice. I did actually try the 1-centers for a few times, and I think a $10 item sold for a quarter, which scared me from doing it again. Maybe you have to take a month's worth of such lumps until you develop your clientele?
Thanks !

bones21: My best advice to you is to try it on some "junk" lots first. Get wild and crazy. Throw together some odds and ends and put the whole lot up for 1 cent. Bidders love that stuff. Too many sellers take themselves oh-so-seriously; it's a real turnoff for the casual browser.

Your products should stand on their own merit and get "fair market value." If you can't sell an item for a good price, then find something else to sell. Don't list it for $1 unless you plan on giving it away.
