Since everyone is so quick to respond on this message board (I love it!), I thought I'd pose another question. I primarily sell clothing on eBay, and I usually sell 90% of my items. However I noticed within the past few weeks that my sales have dropped almost 30%. Seems that people just aren't buying clothing right now! Is anyone else that sells clothing experiencing the same thing??

My clothing sales have been pretty good. The buying has been good but the people paying has been slow. From what I have seen people who buy from me either pay via Paypal within 24 hours or mail a payment and it takes its sweet time getting to me.

My clothes sales have been slow, too. Prices have been down as well. Buyers using paypal are pretty speedy to pay, but, those mailing payments have been horrendously slow! Now that summer is over I think that some of this slowdown is the postage increases. Clothes aren't quite the bargain they were with the new postage rates. Most of my packages still don't weigh enough to use UPS.

Maybe it is just change of seasons. I noticed a change in the clothing item I sell and I think it' because of the way people dress when they go to work. Everything is casual now, well lots of places are down right sloppy, so people aren't looking for clothes. One brings to mind, not don't everyone bash me as I am going by where I live, are the teachers. Now I am from the old school where teachers wore suits or dress slacks and shirts and ties. We also had a dress code. Now they wear jeans, some with holes in the knees and you can't tell them from the students. Okay now that I have bashed the teachers I am sorry but I think they need to change their image.

I also sell clothing on ebay and actually the last 4 weeks have been GREAT like the good old ebay days with high bids, etc
But this week my regular everyday clothing bids are down but selling more dressy evening dresses !! Maybe they are getting a head start for New Years Eve !! It will be here before we know it
Yes ~ same here with slow pays .... most pay right away with Paypal but if sending payment takes friggen forever

The odd patterns may have to do with seasonal changes ~ it is no longer summer but still too warm for bidders to be shopping for Fall & Winter clothing.
GINA's sales are a good example ~ formal wear is usually steady year round, booming for the holidays and June weddings.
Maternity is also pretty steady regardless of season.
A few cool nights should jump start your sales!
Hang on & Enjoy the ride!
Good Luck!
