I have a quick question. While perusing bidder history on some of my items up for sale, I came across a high feedback (300+) bidder (who also sells) with 8 recent negs for non-payment & also for not shipping items paid for. I added the bidder to my blocked bidder list (considering my deadbeat history in the past few months).

My question is - since I didn't cancel his bid (he hasn't met reserve), can he up his bid now that he is on my blocked bidder list?

For those of you wondering why I didn't cancel his bid yet - it is because it is the first bid placed on the item & I know it will attract attention with a bid on it versus none at all. Not to mention, I don't want the hassle of cancelling his bid and then having to explain to him / her why!

I just want to conduct business with people who have proven to pay their sellers. I have had alot of aggravation lately with deadbeats & people who seem to want to create issues over nothing. It's just my year, considering in over 4 years on eBay I never had any problems, deadbeats or otherwise.

I believe you first have to 86 his bids, in order to block this individual from bidding on any of your auction.

I would cancel the bid as well. No sense in taking the chance. Who cares what this person thinks. You need to look out for yourself first.

You do not have to cancel his bid. He will not be able to increase his bid now that he is on your blocked bidders list. I just went through this same thing about a month ago. He tried to up his bid and emailed me asking why I had him blocked. If your item gets no more bids, you can still cancel his bid just before the auction ends. As it stands now, he is in effect a legal shill for you. And it's totally within Ebay's rules.

The light at the end of the tunnel will turn out to be an oncoming train.

Thanks all for taking the time. The auction ends tonite & he is my only bidder so far. Reserve has not been met, so I am not worried. Just wanted to make sure he couldn't bid anymore. Thanks again.

If you block a bidder and the bidder tries to pay with Billpoint, it won't let him pay.
