i woke up this morning to see taht 2 of my auctions had ended with bin. great!!
not so fast!
one gives me some story about how she didnt mean to bin she only wanted to watch it yet, before even emailing me to whine she had requested the total due. wah! sorry you bid, its a contract! i guess shell get her surprise when she wakes up and sees that i will go thru ebays process and file a npb instead of rolling over like she asked.
second one is under another name that i sell packing supplies. i offer free shipping on all my packing supplies and only ship within the us because of this. it is clearly stated in teh auction. well i had an email from someone asking for my shipping address to send a money order. great the want to pay. then i see they want me to free ship the mailers to alaska! should i say ok ill ship to you but you have to pay shipping? or just say nope sorry read the auction listing next time?

I guss you ship UPS ground, which does not go to Alaska, Hawaii or military APO/FPO addresses (or to PO box addresses either).
But Alaska is in the US so you should eat the charge this time.

LOL, Capotasto beat me to it...
Alaska has been a state since 1959
Yep, you need to change your TOS just to say the Lower 48 states because you ship UPS ground. Or however you ship. This will people from Alaska and Hawaii know that they shouldn't bid or any of our territories either.
But do seem like in this case you will deserve the neg if you don't ship to them.

I just had a bidder who's address listed "MP" as the state. I looked up the Zip code and it's the Mariannas Islands. The cool thing is Priority Mail goes there. The negative is that delivery confirmation doesn't.

I'D CALL IT A TECHNICALITY. PEOPLE IN ALASKA ARE QUITE AWARE THEY ARE SOMEWHAT OF AN OUT POST. THEY EVEN REFER TO US AS THE LOWER 48. THIS IS A SIMPLE MISUNDERSTANDING. NOTHING LOST. THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH ANY DREADED NEGATIVE FEED BACK. I AM SICK AND TIRED OF THIS NEG THREAT TALK. DO YOU NEG. K MART WHEN THIER IS A SIMPLE MISUNDERSTANDING? GO YOUR SEPERATE WAYS AND THAT'S IT.
HOWEVER,,,,I JUST WOKE UP A NEUTRAL,,,,THEY WILL WAKE UP TO A NEG. SHOULD HAVE LEFT ME ALONE. WAS FULLY REFUNDED TWO WEEKS AGO. DEMANDED IN FEED BACK TO GET A FEED BACK. SHE HAD 11 NOW,,,,,BACK TO 10 AND TWO NEGS. HAHAHAHAH. IN FEED BACK SAID I WAS DOING FEED BACK BRIBERY. WHAT A MORON. WELL, HER WISH IS CERTAINLY MY COMMAND. SHE HAS HER FEED BACK NOW.
I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE CONTINUATION OF THE RESPONSE...AND I TOLD HER IN AN E MAIL ALSO, CAN THAT IDEA AND LEAVE ME ALONE BUT,,,,,I HAVE A FEELING.

Yeah, Jack, do unto others as you would have them do unto you... LOL
Leave a nuetral and you leave a Neg... I hope other bidders learn their lesson, just leave a Neg for little Jackie... he is going to neg you back anyway.
IF the seller doesn't specifically state that Alaska and Hawaii and territories of the US are excluded, then it is their fault if someone bids and wins and if they don't follow through, deserve the NEG and also be reported to eBay.

I don't agree that there should even be such a thing as a neutral feedback rating. The customer is either happy or they're not.
By leaving a neutral, it means that they aren't pleased with the transaction and I consider that a negative response.
In the future, if I go out of my way for a customer and they leave me a neutral I will also consider leaving them a negative and I would block them from bidding again.

From larger to smaller for shipping areas.
United States and its possessions (includes those odd places, Puerto Rico, Samoa, etc.)
United States(includes Alaska and Hawaii)
Continental United States(excludes Hawaii)
Contiguous(touching or connected) 48 States of the US(excludes Alaska and hawaii)
.
A Man will spend $2.00 for a $1.00 item he needs.
A Woman will spend $1.00 for a $2.00 item she doesn't need.

I agree also, I leave negs.
Nuetrals should be removed and this way the bidder can give the seller what they deserve, a Nice big fat red NEG!
Of course after reading certain TOS's I guess the bidder should expect childish retaliatories. They sort of get what they derserve for being stupid enough to even bid on the auction.

Speaking as one from Alaska. If I see free shipping in the US I would consider myself eligible for that offer. If you are shipping via USPS there would be no difference in cost shipping it to me as any zone 8 location.
If your TOS said free shipping in USA via UPS that would red flag to me that you probobly intend to ship ground and that would exclude me. I would curse you( very mildest of explatives- something like "crap" for not shipping to Alaska and move on.
