I have a non-paying bidding that I left negative feedback for whose auction ended 8/24. I sent my usual winning bidder notice immediately after the auction ended asking for name and address ...nothing...I sent another notice 3 days later...she sent her name and address. Then nothing again....no e-mails and of course, no payment. I sent several e-mails prompting for payment, sent an eBay reminder and finally the NPBA. Nothing...I waited for 5 days after filing the NPBA before I posted negative feedback...
I heard nothing from this bidder, although I found she was bidding on other auctions. Okay...about a week and a half after I post her negative feedback, I get payment in the mail for her item (postmarked 3 days after the feedback was posted). I slapped a DC lable on her item and out it went in the mail. I e-mailed her with the number. I have heard nothing from her until today, when Square Trade e-mails me. Well, according to my bidder, she wants her neg removed because she doesn't undwerstand why it's there in the first place, and besides, she has not received her merchandise. (DC shows it was delivered a few days after being mailed.) I don't have a clue as to how Square Trade works..I filled in all the info they wanted, along with my receipt numbers and e-mail dates...now what? Can anyone tell me what happens next? Thanks!

I've had maybe a half-dozen SquareTrade cases filed against me. I ignore all of them. If the miscreant wants to pay ST to have their neg removed, it's OK with me. No need for me to participate.

I am not a member of Square Trade, so I won't give it another thought if it doesn't affect me.
She can have the neg I gave her removed, even though she was [at the time] a non-paying winner? That's somethin' else!
If a person goes 5 weeks without sending payment and no communication to let the buyer know what's up, and then after a neg is placed on their feedback, all they have to do is send payment and viola'...they can get that neg removed? Is there a time limit on this?

mamadutch -- As I understand it, Square Trade will only remove her negative if you agree to it. I might be wrong here, but I think they've changed their system to where no response at all from you is automatically considered a "yes" as far as whether the feedback should be removed.
In other words, if you want her negative to stay, you would need to respond to the Square Trade thing specifically saying that the feedback should remain.
Do double check on this first at the Square Trade website, but I'm pretty sure that's how it works now.
It does sound like she's trying to set you up for "non-delivery".

Here's the info as copied-and-pasted from the Square Trade website:
After 14 days of no response to your case, we will send you an email with a link to request that SquareTrade conduct a review of feedback removal for a fee of $20 (eBay subsidizes the cost of this service; SquareTrade will refund the fee if feedback cannot be removed)
SquareTrade will review that the following criteria are met:
The feedback was left less than 90 days prior to filing with SquareTrade;
There was no technical difficulty sending notices to the respondent and filer provided the correct email address for the respondent;
Filer used the same transaction # as recorded in the feedback record (filer must file a separate case for each transaction involving the same respondent);
SquareTrade does not receive any response from the other party, either by email or online, before the feedback is removed; and
The transaction did not otherwise violate eBay marketplace policy.
This review may take 3-7 business days.
If all of these criteria are met, SquareTrade will send a recommendation to eBay for feedback removal. eBay may take up to 14 days thereafter to review the feedback removal request.

Hi - I just recently went though this with a buyer. Didn't pay the full amount owed, after many emails we weren't able to work it out. I filed NPB for and left negative.
She filed with Square Trade saying she paid. Well...yes she had...just not the full amount. [I had refunded her payment]. She wanted her neg removed too.
You do need to reply to Square Trade or they will do as she asks. But when you do reply, all you're going to be doing is rehashing what you've already been in disagreement about. So...DO REPLY...just explain your part...Didn't pay ....wouldn't answer emails..etc.
Then...what happens next is SHE/THEY have to pay a fee for a Square Trade employee to get involved. The person who filed the complaint is the only one who can pay this fee....not the person whom the complaint was made against. Don't worry that by answering this complaint, you'll have to agree to pay any part of the cost....you won't.
Don't buyers like this just make ebaying so much fun?
Anyway...please don't stress yourself out about this. I did and realized it was no big deal. Good luck.
