Wonder how many sellers have items waiting to be offloaded or even worse how many bidders have items they are waiting for?

I know as a bidder, I would probably not be as tolerant as I should in this case, because that means the seller didn't have the item up for sale.

I am one of the unfortunate ones who has a 40-foot container of Chinese antique furniture just sittin' on the dock of the bay in Long Beach.

You think that's bad... In Alaska most of our food and supplies are shipped up via barge. Safeway has started trucking up food so we hopefully won't have a food shortage up here.

How could this be an excuse for late paying?

That isn't the only bad thing. How about if your car breaks down and the part you need to repair it is on those ships. You will be walking.

Estimated loss is now 2 billion$$ a day which should send an already rotten economy into a tailspin. Nothing gets in and nothing goes out and we sell a lot of food and raw materials overseas. Farmers and ranchers think they might have to dump their products on the domestic market and take the loss. Apparently shut down has to do with Union ordering a slowdown under the guise of "Working Safe" Union objects to adoption of new technologies which would result in loss of jobs. Not a question of pay because some dock workers make $150.00 an hour. Think Bush would invoke the Taft Hartley Act but he seems to be concentrating on war with Iraq.

Wow, classic, sorry to hear that.

I am sure there a few eBay drop shippers or inporters getting hit hard.

I am right smack in the middle of it. (San Francisco bay area) All of the produce that was supposed to be shipped out for export is now either rotting on the docks or the shippers are going to try to sell it locally cheap! I wish I knew where that was, I need some cheap fresh produce!

Watching the local news last night, they did allow some barges to be loaded and head on up to Alaska from here (Seattle) because they really need the food shipments. Sure hope this can be settled and fast!

This is awful! They should atleast let through the shipments that are necessary, like food stuffs for up North!

Those dock workers make a minimum of $80,000 a year.

Looks like Bush is going to step in and do something so it doesn't cripple the economy.

Everyone is entitled to my opinion.
