I have buyer in China who wants to bid on some Cinnabar items I have on auction. He offers to buy with BidPay. I normaly deal only in USA. Have never used BidPay, how does it work? What are the fees?

It's very easy. You have no fees. The buyer pays a $5.00 fee to Bid Pay to use their service. Then I think the buyer uses his credit card the then BidPay sends you the money. Someone used it for one of my auctions so I signed up for it and now I put that in my auctions just in case any one wants to use it. It costs you nothing.

When the bidder pays using Bidpay, you will get 2 emails from Bidpay. Do not send the item until you get the 2nd email. The first email is just to confirm that they can reach you. They then validate the credit card. Once they say they are sending the money order in the 2nd email, you can mail out. Bidpay will make good on the money order, even if it gets lost in the mail.

There is not always a $5.00 fee, BidPay has reduced their charges to the buyers to use BidPay, you need to check their site. I have always used BidPay as a form of payment since they started, because it was free to me and easy for buyer or seller. BidPay will notify you that a money order has been sent. If your comfortable, you can send item at that time and it saves time for the buyer on shipping. I have always been happy with BidPay. Never waited over 5 days for the arrival of the money order from NY.

Sanmar...I recommend Bidpay highly. They are much safer than Paypal. The one thing you want to pay close attention to is in the second email you get from Bidpay (confirmation) they will give the buyers name and complete shipping address. If any of that info differs from what the buyer sent you, contact Bidpay per the instructions in the email and wait for their o.k. (usually in a couple of hours) before you ship.

The light at the end of the tunnel will turn out to be an oncoming train.

from their site:

BidPay.com charges a non-refundable service fee that is based upon the face value of the money order.

All money orders with a face value of $30 and under are charged a flat rate of $2.95.

All money orders with a face value of between $30.01 and $100.00 are charged a flat rate of $5.00.

All money orders with a face value of between $100.01 and $700.00 are charged $5.00 + 2.25%
of the face value of the money order

Good for international transactions

Love BidPay! Wish more buyers would use it.

They have lowered their fees for smaller transactions, and I have more buyers using it now than ever before.

Have never had a problem with BidPay.

By the way, they must mail those BidPay money orders from all over the country. Mine are always mailed from Bridgeton, MO.

Must be why they arrive so quickly.

Sanmar, Bidpay is the best form of payment you can get (except for cash).
Once that 2nd email says the WU MO is in the mail, you are golden.
