i won an auction yesterday and had a bid on another one of their auctions. i emailed them asking if they would hold the winning auction until after the other one was over. no problem. she accepted paypal and that is why i bid on her auctions. i get an email from her today stating she has changed her ebay username (for some reason even tho its the same just with a number on the end) and she is no longer accepting paypal. only money orders!!! i do not wish to pay by money order and would not have bid otherwise. what can i do?!

I would think that since the auction closed, she should abide by the own TOS & accept Paypal. I would also check the auction or theirs you are currently bidding on to see it the TOS have changed. If it has I would cancel my bid withe the comment "seller changed payment methods".

Again it could be they have a problem with Paypal & if you paid via Paypal you might not get what you paid for.

But then if you don't get your items, you can
appeal to Paypal since you did not receive the items.

There are several possibilities on why she has changed her mind on accepting PayPal. It could be that she has a restricted account to that she has read all the bad press out there about PayPal and decided that it was in her best interest not to accept PayPal.

I would send her an e-mail asking why she changed her mind and if there any other payment methods that she would take other than a Money Order. Also, what is the dollar value of the item? If it is a high dollar amount, see if she would ship COD.

she says paypal has become to much of a hassle but if i buy it now at the price she quoted i can use paypal. there are already bids on this item. i dont wish to bin, if i had i would have done that when i 1st saw the auction which had a bin price. so should i just go cancel my bid for this auction? the other auction i won is only $5.74. i will pay that with paypal and hope for the best.

geez! what a week.

Yes you should cancel your bid on the current auction, as you no longer wish to abide by the new TOS.

But also even though you don't like it, a seller can request payment in whatever method they desire. It is not good practice, but if a seller tells me they don't accpet paypal, then why send it?

It is their auction and their rules... they just changed them in mid stream is all.

So get the MO and send it and just remember not to bid on this persons auctions again.

If you insist on using paypal, better invest in the MBG, seller may send you something you don't like.

Cancel the current bid & send her a check for the one that closed. Don't leave feedback until they do.

So, send her a M.O. & be happy. Life is too short to get frustrated by something as trivial deciding to pay by P/P or MO. So it costs you, what 65 cents more?
