Does any one use fedex to ship ?well I use my paypal card to pay and for every item shipped they take out 10.00 (it say's pending on my paypal history )no matter what the charge is .And they run my card every time for each item and it takes approx .2 week's for the actual amount to show and to get my money put back on my paypal card. So then I thought well i'll pay by cash WRONG.I had to have exact change so my one item was 6.17 i had to give 7.00 and received no change back .I have account their also and have my paypal linked to my account .The girl who is their said the account can only be used for international shipping ? I love the rates but I hate the way they charge my card .Because if I ship 5 items they take 50.00 out (10.00 for each item) even though the total maybe only 27.43 .This is a regular shipping fedex center .I've called and they alway's say they do that in all their shipping to make sure the card is good,is that true ?And no change given what's with that ?

this is somthing you should find out by calling fed exp.
gas station always put thru 1 dollar to make sure the card is good and reverse when the actual chargee comes thru.
does fed exp accept personal check??
not getting any change back sounds kind of odd,is this really a fed exp operated centre?/

To solve you "no change" problem just pay by check.

I ship by Fed Ex, & prepay using my PayPal account & it isn't charged until after the package is delivered.

Check your FedEx internet account account set up to see if the Paypal account number is present. When I set mine up, FerdEx initally charged $20.00 to the acount to verify it. Within a week it was credited back.

FedEx is not your best bet anyway.

Here we are 50 miles from the nearest FedEx center. They are very casual about our deliveries, they used to only deliver up here once a week.

This past week they lost a package my husband need badly enough, for a customer, to pay for 2nd day. So it ended up taking 6 days... 2 for us to realize it was not coming, 2 for FedEx to get through lying about where it was, and 2 for UPS to get it here.

UPS will deliver daily to even very rural areas like we are here.

If your bidders are like us, buying on eBay to expand their choices because of the remoteness of their area, please ship UPS, so we will get in a timely manner.

Being right is nice, being obnoxiously right can cost one friends.

I don't know what type of account you have, but I have had an account going back to RPS before FedEx took them over. I get billed every 2 weeks & pay with check. I ship heavy boxes of china to replacement cos & they pick it up. My weekly charge for this is $7.00, but only in weeks I have a pick up. I am very lucky, I am less than a mil;e from the service center. I drop off all of my small pkgs. I have learned one thing with FedEX. Be sure to charge at least $3.00 more than the stated price forzone & weight. There is a $1.10 charge for home delivery & $1.35 for rural delivery. There is no way that you can determine this except by asking the buyer. This usually comes on the next invoice as a surcharge of $2.85& then there is the fuel charge too. I now add $3.00 to the shipping charge.

Generally Fedex has been hassle free for me but lately a couple odd things. Sometimes they charge me for residential delivery and other times they don't.

The billing they always initially charge $10.00 or even $1.00, then reverse it and charge the exact amount. No big deal, but this last month they charged $10.00 and did not reverse it for the correct amount of $6.15. I have been unable to reach paypal to do anything about it.

My Fedex guy told me that if you don't have a phone number for the delivery address they have to ship as residental. I am going to ask my buyers for their phone number in my EOA from now on. It saves them some money.

When I checkedthis out as to how they determine whether it is a home delivery./ rural delivery, she said it was all done bu Zip Code. The driver puts this on hjis delivery sheet & thats why you can't determoine in advance where it is going. They told me to charge extra to compensate for this.

I was told that if you go to http://www.FedEx.com and open a free account and print labels from that site, that billing will be accurate and will not have to be adjusted at a later time.

Hope that helps,

They used to put a $1 hold on my card every time but they quit doing that a long time ago. Maybe they only do it for new acounts.
