I have a potential buyer that wants to purchase an item in my store, BUT she wants payment address before she even bids.
I have sent 4 emails stating that I would be happy to send my address if in fact she would bid.
She keeps insisting that I send her my address & no bid.
She is not new, 250+ feedbacks & all good...1 negative, no big deal there.
Maybe I am wrong, but I feel as though there should be a bid placed & then all the correct motions be followed thereafter.
What do you say?

I would ask her why she wants my address...maybe she's just looking to see what your zip code is so she can figure out the shipping (or if you have a fixed shipping to see if you're charging too much)? I wouldn't have a problem with it, but I use a PO Box. Did you check her feedback to see if she has any weird "buyer is stalking me" comments? Couldn't think of any other reason...

She has already given me her address & shipping was a fixed $3.85....No rhyme or reason as to why she needs my address (not a po box) before she even bids.
Maybe I am unduly stressing over this, but it just doesn't add up to me.

Doesn't add up to me either. My instincts tell me not to give out the address until she bids. As you have already quoted shipping of 3.85 I can't possibly see any reason for her to verify if that is too high. Either she is willing to pau shipping or she isn't. Your shipping charge is within normal range for even a very small item so I can't see the reason to give out the address without a valid reason. I would be wary of this one.

I have been very polite thus far...
Telling her that I would be happy to send info when the buying is complete..
I told her in my last email that I could not send my address until she bid on said item because if someone else bid before I received her payment it would automatically go to the other buyer.
I don't know why such a simple transaction can be so complicated.
If she were new I could understand...but after 250+ transactions, she knows the scoop.
Thanks guys for taking your time...
Just needed a perception check!

If she has your name she can look it up herself in the univesal search. I see it as no big deal. There are people out there that have certain mind conditions and maybe she would just like to see what part of the country, or city your from. I wouldn't lose an auction because You won't send your address.
