I have an account with UPS and the last 2 packages have cost more to ship than what the book tells me? I usually just determine the zone and ship. Have they raised some prices?
I checked using an older order to a different state and the price was the same as it was before?
Is there a charge they are not showing on these last 2 packages? I get NO answers from their customer service. They keep telling me that it should cost even more than what is coming up online.

No, I drop them off myself.
They may be getting the surcharge the books says that certain zipcodes fall under. I cannot find that list on the site. Anyone know where to locate it?

What does your dropping the package off have to do with a delivery to a residential address. Any package delivered to a residence costs $2 extra. Unless you meant that you are dropping it off directly to the residence then the total UPS charge would be $0.00

UPS charges a customer counter fee when you drop it off and many times charges a fuel surcharge. Both are added to the cost you see on the web site.

The surcharge is $1.10 plus $1.50($2.60) to some remote areas. If you use the online calculator it will show if it will have the extra surcharge. If they are charging a counter fee then you should switch to fedex which doesn't have that.

If you have an account and print the label, and postage on-line you do not have to pay the customer counter fee. I do this all the time, just drop them off, the rates come out the same as if I had a daily pick-up account. You can even give them to any UPS driver since the shipping is already prepaid. They do bill me if their is a surcharge for a remote area. HTH

I printed my own label and they still charged a counter fee. It was a counter in a hardware store, not a UPS office. Maybe that is why.
I don't have a FedEx office to drop off packages to, and the drop boxes only take envelopes. I don't ship frequently enough to merit a pick-up service.

these are whats known as a ups authorized retailer. ups does not charge that extra fee the retailer youre taking the packages to is the one who charges that fee.
