Well, ebay has done it agin. I can not access any of my auctions thru ebay, no seller's lists, etc. The announcement they postd said that no javascript is being allowed anymore. Don't we use java in our listings? If so that means I will have no buyers!
I think it looks like ebay is now trying to eliminate the listing compotition also now.
Can this problem be fixed thru this end or are these auctions a lost cause? Why can't they give a huy some notice.
It would have been simple (ie, not the ebay way), to start eliminating java on new listings i a week or so, it would have been all gone.

Isn't it only a certain type of javascript that is now not allowed? Javascript can really slow down the auctions and the ebay system. Most sellers use simple HTML or nothing at all.

The announcement is on eBays announcement board about Javascript. I asked the question in the AW imaging hosting thread and they said listing through AW won't affect anything.

I don't think eBay knows what it is doing. My software listing company said that there are glitches relating to SYI.....they told me just to hold my posts till eBay straightens out their problems.
I have had nothing but problems with posting on eBay since 1AM this morning.
I removed all prohibited PayPal, java, etc., to no avail, and still can't post....I'm taking my software company's advice and am just going to wait.
No point in changing my style of posts, till eBay straightens out.

If you are manually pasting in the old PayPal logos you need to switch to the new ones. Some other 3rd party Java scripts have been affected also.

"I am SICK OF EBAY CHANGES!!"
If ebay has programmers on its staff, they can't just sit on their hands. They have to WORK. Which means they have to continually make changes and "improvements" to the site. It can never be perefect, or even good enough. It must continually change. Which means that the opportunity for bugs and screw-ups can never end.
Also, since ebay is a public company, it must increase its earnings each quarter. So it has to continually do things to try to increase its income. BIN, stores, more garbage added etc. So it will never be static, thus more opportunity for screw-ups and down time and bidders can't get in and you get blank pages and so on forever...

So I went to PayPal to cut and paste a new logo, and I noticed that the "smart logo" is Java script.
Guess we'll have to wait until they catch up now that Ebay is in charge.

PayPal's new "smart logo" is compatible. EBay didn't outlaw all Java scripts. The following is from eBay's announcement board.
Some third party listing and payment providers, which until recently included PayPal, use the "eval" script to add functions to eBay listings, including adding their logos in item descriptions. The script is also used to add messaging and other features to some listings. However, due to the security risks with this script, it is being added to the disabled JavaScript list.
We have worked with PayPal, and they no longer use this script. However, the blocking of this particular JavaScript may affect currently listed items with the PayPal logo, or those items where the PayPal logo was added to the listing description manually. If you are using an older PayPal logo, you should upgrade to the latest version available on the PayPal site.
