Sent a EOA notice & received the following message from the bidder.
Hi
How about I send you a money order for $9.80 & you just keep the thing. It will save me money on something I would just throw away anyway. I thought I was bidding on the whole thing (my fault not yours).
I replied:
Since you are being honest about it, just send me $2.00 to cover the listing & final value fees. No hard feeling about it.
Received a message back from him.
Hello again
I would fell beter sending you $5.00 so you have something for your trouble also. Thank You & I hope to do buisiness with you again.
I will need your shipping address though for this transaction.

Why not forget the deal altogether and file mutually agreed on by seller and buyer to not complete the deal. That's what I would do.

All I wanted was enought to cover the listing & final value costs. If it makes him happy to add to that, well bless his heart.

I completely settled a "no more want" case with mutually agreed NPB, after I had sent my address for payment, and a few days later I got 4 bucks in the mail "thanks for your help, have a beverage on me." I think these are people with the old set of ethics, just want to be sure they do everything right. They do exist! BTW, we traded positive feedbacks.

I had a really nice one too recently, where someone bid on something that was very clearly identified, and after the auction he asked questions about what he bid on. When I told him what it was, and it was not what he wanted, I offered to let him back out of the auction. He said no, he bid on it, and it was his responsibility. That is highly unusual, and I got positive feedback out the transaction too.

I actually got an email from a winning bidder that wanted to add 2.00 to her bill to cover my cost for PayPal & selling on eBay. (I don't take credit cards so my PayPal account is free)
I checked her user ID & she is also a seller on eBay!
I refused, but she did it anyway.
I sell rubber stamps & added an extra one to her package.
