Has anyone else received this e-mail message from eBay support? Subject of the message was, Please confirm FREE membership. I received it last night, and have written support, but still no answer from them. I also clicked on the link in the email, but comes up "Page cannot be found."
I have been, and continue to be a very active member of eBay since 1999, so don't understand what this is all about. Anyone else know???????
Sincerely,
Toni

So even though I sent a reply to their original e-mail, I'm should be ok, as I didn't give out any information as far as password for eBay?

Well, it's obviously not from Ebay. If it were then the "cgi3.ebay.com" would be after the "@" and not before it.

I did, finally, find where to send for customer support for some help from eBay about this e-mail and submitted it to them, so I should hear something from them in a day or two about this, I would think?

Just visiting the site or answering the email is harmless. It's giving them your password that is dangerous.
If you were a crook that type of scheme is the perfect way to obtain ebay passwords as they are hoping that you have an inactive account and up on the latest ebay security warnings. To outfox or not be taken by a crook you first must start to think like them.

I have recieved confirmation from eBay that they are checking into the e-mail I recieved, but from the sounds of it, you might have recieved a different one than I did, as mine didn't even mention PayPal. If you believe that your e-mail is not legitimate, then please let eBay or PayPal know!!!!!
