We need about 60 more eBay sellers to answer our "consumer on-line payment
method selection" questionnaire.

If you responded to our survey 6 months ago, just ignore this message.

Otherwise, if you have ever sold anything on eBay, please answer this survey.

The survey takes 5 minutes to complete. It's at:

http://itm_phd.mgt.gatech.edu/

The research (undertaken by a PhD student and two Georgia Tech professors)
investigates the forces, which determine on-line auction payment method
selection. The research is going quite well. We just need some additional
data to verify a potentially key finding. Payment method selection is quite an
important area for the on-line auction industry.

Thank you very, very much!!!!

I took about 4 minutes to complete this survey. It is a very informative and easy survey, but I'm sure the results will be very helpful for the eBay users. Great job!

Please let us know the research results when the research is done. Thanks.

I never participate in surveys, online or otherwise. It's no compliment to be asked, and it's usually just a waste of time since you rarely get to hear the results. And of course, you'll never know what agenda the researchers are trying to advance. (And if you think researchers are unbiased or not in it for financial gain, think again.)

I don't even do the "service ratings" that Saturn is so fond of. For those who don't know, every time you have your Saturn serviced at a Saturn dealer, you get a two-page survey in the mail a few days later. The dealership applies pressure to make sure all their customers answer every question with "Extremely Satisfied". I called Headquarters and requested that they never, ever bother me with a survey again. Because, you see, you can't just toss the surveys...they keep sending you reminder postcards until you return them.

That's obnoxious.

fluffy I aggree with you on that one!

Besides, the people conducting the surveys usually have them worded so it makes it impossible to not answer the way they want it answered without looking like an idiot.

I found that to be true of Ebay's last survey. Half way through I saw where they were heading with the questions and just x'd out. Due to the wording on the survey, I was answering in a way that made it appear I supported a change I actually did not support at all.

I believe I did the same thing with this survey several months ago.

Very slanted approach to most.

eBay Sellers,

This survey is producing good results! We still need 30 more responses to verify one key result. We have not found any other research, which analyzes the actual transaction details.

The survey's results will be sent to you, if you provide your e-mail address on the survey. We will also post the results on a server in Microsoft Word and .pdf formats and post the URL link on auctionwatch.com.

If you would like to comment on the survey, please contact me: [email protected]

You've given us 42 responses. Thank you!!! We only need 18 more. We should be able to finish processing our data quickly and provide our results. They should be very good.

We only need 6 more survey responses. If you have 5 minutes to spare and you haven't filled out this survey before, would you please fill it out? Thank you very much!

We plan to post a URL link for the survey results on auctionwatch.com

The main forces that determine which online service is used are:
1)Ebay force feeding their product by making it mandatorily optional in their listing form.
2)Ebay force feeding their product to buyers through their mandatorily optional checkout and end of sale emails.
3)Ebay limiting competitors logos to a size where you need a magnifying glass
