hope everyone is having a good weekend!
we always read the horror stories about the newbies and the morons and all the bad customers, but I must say I have LLOOOOTTTSSS of great ones,
(then the 4-5 bad ones stay in memory so fresh for such a long time...)
but I wanted to ask if you wanna share some stories about really nice & good customers
that are trully pleasure to work with!
we had a thread while ago about the best finds, so lets do one about the best customers.

A few weeks ago I was sent a Paypal payment but I made a mistake and filed it before shipping the item.
My wonderful bidder was very patient and waited, and waited...
Finally she asked about it. I looked it up and found I had not shipped it. (My mistake 100%).
This wonderful bidder was just so nice about it. Said we all make mistakes. I deserved a neg, told her to neg me, and she would not do it. She went out of her way to make me feel better about my screw-up.

So far all of my customers have been great. I'm especially thankful to those who were so patient when I first started out, or those to whom I sent the wrong items. Talk about patience!

I get them by the dozens. Ya right right it is hard to forget the bad ones, they sneak in once in a while too.

Most of mine are the greatest,I only get a bad one every now and then.Right now all mine are the type of people I wish I had at the Flea Market, although I got really great customers there too. We are getting alot of people from out of state,so fun to chat with.

My best customer was a lady who bid on several vintage craft books. I sent one package value $60, the next week she bid on more, and I send the package value $58. Neither ever arrived. She never asked me where they were, every time I wrote to ask if they had arrived she told me not to worry, she was sure they would be there soon. Eventually we both realized that they were lost. She told me "don't worry, it's not your fault, I don't expect you to pay me back" I couldn't believe it. I went out and searched towns up to 60 miles away, and was able to replace most of what she lost, but I think she really made me feel like there are good, kind people out there, as opposed to the ones who write every day complaining that their $2.99 book has not yet arrived!

I can say most of my customers are great. Even the ones who tell me how to package and also not to forget the insurance. A reminder helps. I also think the reason they tell me how they would like secure packaging and tell me how to do it are the ones that have received packages that have not met their standards. I don't get upset with them cuz I understand. I think I over package but if that makes them happy then I get a good feedback.

Over 2000 WONDERFUL transactions, only 2 real rotters in 4+ years. I Love when a customer gushes over an item they have just received...and then they say
"THANK YOU SO MUCH"...are you kidding? is what I want to say. What else I want to say is " You, my customer allow me to do what I love( buying and selling Antiques),while making a good living. You allow me to make my own hours, to not have the bills and overhead and time demands that a B&M store demands of me, to garden, to decorate, to spend more time with my family, to do volunteer work, to have more todays and less worry about tomorrow..." But all I do say is "My pleasure, Thank YOU!"

Almost 100% of my customers have been terrific too...Ones that stand out in my mind have been "experts" in a particular item that I've had and have volunteered to help me with other items of the same kind I might have. Most of what I sell are consignment items and I don't pretend to be an expert in some of the of the areas I've sold items in. I've had a customer send me 3 pages of "what to look for/how to evaluate" items and another who told me to send him a list of what I had and he'd look them up in his reference books. Their generosity of spirit has been a tremendous boost and is always appreciated!

Hello everyone,
One of the nicest customers I had was a lady who bought a big bunch of porcelain doll parts. One piece arrived broken. My first broken item...
I offered to send her a partial refund. Her response? Oh, no, don't bother. Please just go to a nice restaurant and have a lovely lunch! What a nice lady!
Oh, BTW, the package only had to go a couple of hundred miles and FedEx managed to break something inside...
I guess I can't complain. I've sent probably 1000 packages and this is the very first that was damaged in transit.

I'm so glad you started this thread, especially so near to Thanksgiving!
I have had TONS of wonderful customers and feel that I've made instant friends I may never meet in person all over the globe. In fact, selling on ebay has restored my faith in humanity - truly! Until about 4 years ago I had no idea how many kind and trusting souls there were out there.
And then again, LOL, I don't sell to teenagers or young men much! And when I do, they tend not to have great manners or to know how to do things on ebay. But I think they'll learn at some point.
Sometimes there's someone who is rather short with me; well, not short exactly but someone who sounds as though he/she is hurting physically or emotionally. But it's too easy for us to dwell on the occasional truly unmannerly customer and forget all the wonderful ones.
IN most cases, we get what we give, and I think a competent but friendly end-of-auction message can set a good tone.

I sold a Fitz and Floyd Imperial Dynasty dinner plate to a lady who had been waiting for 18 months to find a replacement so she could use her set to serve at her bridge club. She thanked me profusely in her reply emails, and then mailed me a thank you card. One of my most memorable sales!

Had an auction close last night, lady paid right away! That's nice in itself.
But later on I received an E-mial from her stating how grateful and thankful she was for people like me,(Meaning sellers like US) for all the hard work I (we) do locating hard to find items and putting them up for sale. Other wise people like her and others who are looking for them would never stand a chance of finding that special item they have been searching for.

So far, in the 30 sales I have had within these first two months of selling on ebay, i've had only positive results. Well, except for this recent suspension. But, all the high bidders have payed promptly and come through. One or two have been a week late, and one or two have sent in checks, but it's all the same money isn't it? I think the main thing is to stay honest, and to have patience with people. I've vowed to refund fully anyone who is not happy (save the shipping) and have them keep the item, and right that off as a cost of doing business on ebay. This is the advice I have been given from ebayers who have hundreds of sales, with NO negatives. I don't know if this will work, because there is the odd screwball out there which includes me as well, but we'll see.

I've always had nice customers for the most part. I must say that since I've shifted what I'm selling, I've had some of the most incredible transactions. I recently listed a bunch of china, crystal, and flatware, and have met some of the nicest people ever. Maybe there's a bit of a personality type behind what people buy? (I don't know, just a thought...)
I recently had a rather disturbing buying experience, and had almost lost faith in eBay -- had vowed not to buy again. This last group of bidders are some of the nicest, most friendly people, very courteous, and follow through with everything. To boot, many were complete eBay newbies! They were all I needed to gain faith in the system again. (For a while, anyway!)
