I sell comics and other collectibles and the number of people who are turning out to be deadbeat buyers is incredible! These people make me want to tear my hair out! And its becoming worse. I think its worst in the collectible part of Ebay since most collectibles are wanted by teenagers and younger kids and they somehow get their parents passwords and bid. The WORST is deadbeat bidders on my featured plus auction! DONT BID AND NOT PAY ON 10 ADY HIGH PROFILE AUCTIONS!lousy no good deadbeats!
Sorry had to get that frustration out.
Also i read some posts about slow sales etc, well i was going through the same after a great month but every now and then a big order comes along and it sort of levels out low sales. Collectible and comic sales have NEVER been this good

A lot of it depends on what you sell. With comics you're obviously getting lots of young (Probably underage buyers) who have no money. I hear antique dealers get very few deadbeats.

I too sell comics, but I learned long ago not to even bother on eBay. I actually have far fewer deadbeats on Yahoo.

I sell a lot of comics and most of my buyers are older gentleman and not younger people. I sell the older (gold and silver) comics. eBay is a great place to sell them. I get more deadbeats on dolls than comics... go figure!

It used to be great but now deadbeats are popping up all over the place. I'm a really nice guy/seller in the sense that i dont put any restrictions of ppl having a zero rating are not allowed to bid etc but im seriously thinking of putting 5-6 lines on every auction saying that i have the right to cancel bids on any person who seems suspicious. Most deadbeat bidders also have aol accounts (dont know what the correlation is though)

STRANGE BUT TRUE: I had an auction of Fantasy Art cards which ended on Oct. 4th. A very experienced eBayer named something like andadayplus was the winning bidder. He has over 1000 feedbacks; he buys and sells on eBay. It was more than 3 days when he responded as per making payment; then he finally emails telling me payment is on the way (whatever that means). I never received his payment on line or in the mail and he never responded to the non-paying bidder alert. So next week he gets negative feedback after the waiting period is completed upon filing the non-paying bidder alert. I just can't believe that he is totally ignoring this matter. Of course, I've blocked him from bidding again because he is the biggest blockhead I've encountered on eBay considering his experience.

I've experienced that the higher ranking the buyer has, the longer he/she takes to pay! (not all the time, just mostly). I guess its because they're selling so much themselves it takes them a while to get to paying for stuff they buy. Plus their emails get cluttered (like mine), with questions from buyers etc. I love buyers with mid level ratings. They pay the fastest!
