I just got the king of bad feedback for one of the most stupid things ever.
I got it for SENDING A KIT TO THE ADDRESS PROVIDED!!!!!!!!! The guy gave me bad feedback for shipping it to the address provided. It was poorly and badly written, but I thought I got it right. He did get the kits in good shape and really fast to, Was satisfied with the product, but neg'd me (my 4th in 4 years) for wrong address. And he did not (as usual with customers like this %$#%%#$, never wrote me to see what happened or to correct the problem, just slammed me). I banned him from my auctions ever again, but the feedback stays.
Am I being an idiot here or what. Yes, I retaliated. I just cannot believe anyone would give a bad feedback on an address, even if I did it wrong and just made a mistake. I guess I should have given him a bad feedback for bad handwriting. Ebay needs to ban stupid people.
How about you guys. Have you had any really stupid feedback for silly things! Until now, my first one was the guy who neg'd me because my post office undercharged an international rate and wanted the money back (I paid the post office the right fee and sent him the slip AFTER HE NEG'D me)

My only neg out of over 735 unique positives reads " Mirror arrived broken. Bad handling by FedEx. Not your fault" I read it about a dozen times before it finally soaked in that he was using negative feedback to absolve me of any wrongdoing. The neg will be there forever. And his name will be on my barred bidders list forever. If Ebay were to ever require mental evaluations for bidders, they would lose a sizeable portion of their user base.

Give him back a negative feedback so that he will think twice about doing that stunt in the future.

My first neutral, was a positive, they just hit the wrong button.
My second one, item arrived broken & I sent another. The FB was a neutral that said "Handled problem very well"
eBay should clean up these mistakes, it would be the fair thing to do.
sparks That would kill me, to get a neg against FedEx on MY FB.
Some bidders are such idiots, they have no idea the harm their stupidity causes.

I fired off an email to him explaining how the feedback system was supposed to work and pointing out that he should always give the seller a chance to try to resolve any problems instead of blindsiding him with a neg. I then followed the advice that I've seen posted so many times on this board. I waited two days to calm down and compose a calm, rational negative that will cause many sellers to cancel his bid in a heartbeat. It was not so much a retaliation, as it was a warning to other sellers who may encounter him.

my first neg was from a lady who bought a 1960's table hockey game "it wasn't new one it was used"---duh, where did she think the rust in the pictures came from?
my second was from a woman who bought a swimming goggles outfit described as "worn by a 3 year old"...."NOT NEW IN PACKAGE"

Yes, just plain stupid items should be removed by ebay. I also think the feedback page should be re-arranged so that positive is all by itself. If you want to leave negative feedback, you must go to another page.
And on that page should be descriptions of what should be left for bad feedback AND WHAT WOULD NOT BE CONSIDERED for bad feedback.
It also should tell the people about how sellers can be affected by the feedback left.
I think it is an operational and educational ball that ebay is dropping.

I got a neg for selling a video, where it was perfectly described, that the case was damaged (this was on half) - I get neutral feedback stating that the case was damaged - well, duh! That is how it was described. I gave a neg back, and got email today telling me how unhappy they were about getting a negative (their first) as they only left a neutral. My neg was very factual, that the item was as described, and that their poor feedback was unwarranted. I told them in my email response to think twice about leaving poor feedback, and if they thought there was a problem, they should contact the seller before giving the feedback. Maybe that neg will make her think twice about leaving feedback before trying to resolve a problem (though in this case, there was no problem to resolve if she would have just READ the description)

JACKSWEBB said it best..." A neutral is a neg in sheeps clothing ".
I agree 100%. If someone gives a neutral without first trying to resolve the problem with the seller, they shouldn't be surprised to see a neg in return.

That's assuming that people would take time to read that. These are the same ones that can't even bother to contact the seller when there is a problem.

JACKSWEBB is right. I miss his input here.

People need to not worry about feedback...Buyers rarely look at it. If you take a look at the number of negs someone like evalueville has you would understand.

I got my first Neutral on Saturday --- said that I was polite, answered e-mails quickly and was good to work with, but that I didn't ship all the items.
Thing is, he merely thought said accessory was included -- when it wasn't. Sigh -- he didn't even give me a chance to respond to this e-mail.

My most memorable Neutral was the lady who purchased a BIRDCAGE PLANTER, but must have had another purpose for planter, because she kept e-mailing me telling me how much she loved the item, but that it needed a real birdcage-type door.
We exchanged several e-mails in which I tried to determine the problem and assist her. I found no problem with the item when used as a planter.
I figured she must have wanted to put a real bird inside (instead of a plant), because the cage easily hinged apart perfectly for inserting a potted plant and it was open enough to water and tend the plant without a little bird door.
After many e-mails I could not figure out what she wanted me to do to make her happy... it just seemed she wanted to continually complain about it not having a little bird door. I offered her a refund and she said she didn't want a refund and was very happy with her purchase. She then left Neutral feedback, saying that I was "rude" when asked questions she had after she received the item.
It hurts when you spend so much time trying to solve a problem... only to have Neutral feedback left.

The thing to do is to give up caring. I did long ago, and on the rare occasion that I get a neg or a nutral, it does not bother me.

I've never seen neutrals as negs but I've learned that others do so I read them when checking out fb and learned it can tell me a lot about a seller and a buyer.

My first and only neg was a very positive comment, the seller just hit the wrong radio button. Ugh! I hate that! (I could almost understand a newbie buyer doing it, but a seller?) Still bothers me, and it was a good 6 months ago. There should be an exception to eBay's policy. How could you misinterpret a comment like: "SMOOTH & EASY TRANSACTION! FAST PAYMENT! THANKS! A++ BUYER!

I got a Negative today for sending the right product, to the right person, and faster then they expected.
The customer mis-understood one of the features, and thought she got "a lesser priced item". The item in question came with a 20 Bit converter for Audio and a 10 Bit converter for Video (DVD/VCR). On the box it advertises the 10 Bit Video Converter -- which she got confused for the Audio One.
So she said she got a lesser priced item/lower model. Referred her to the Manufacturer's web site where she could look up the model # she received and see that it was the most expensive one they made, not to mention the best.
She insisted that she got the lower priced model -- yet couldn't identify what the higher priced model was that she was supposed to receive. Kept referring me to the auction listing -- which had the same model # as the one she received and the one listed by the Manufacturer as their top of the line model.
So basically, I got a Neg because my customer can't read and understand that she got what she paid for.
ARGHHH!!!!!!!!!!!
