Well, since I have been suspended and have nothing better to do now, let me post another thread.

Has anyone used the VEO 1300 digital camera? How do you like it? Is there a way to use it without acquiring the software? I downloaded the drivers, but can't seem to make my OS recqognize the camera, it keeps asking for the bundled software. Thanks!

I don't know anything about that camera, but I have the same problem with an RCA digital and a Meade camera.

I finally gave up and am only successful with the floppy system Sony uses.

I have an Olympis D460 zoom. Bought it used so no software came with it. After doing some reading, I went to WalMart & bought a Smart Media reader. Plugged it into the USB port & installed the software that came with it. Now all I have to do is insert the SM card into the reader & the computer "Sees" the card as a new drive. Then I use Explorer to cut & paste the images into a directory of my choice. Then I use the Kodak photo software (software was included when I purchased their inkjet photo paper) to edit the images.

I didn't have to work to get the systenm to see the camera.

The SM Reader was about $29.00.

Thank you so much for that valuable information Bear! I'll see if I can find that Smart Media at my local CompUSA.

you can also try to find a phone number for the company...my first computer was used one and when it crashed I had no recovery disk...the company overnight expressed one for $24.95....it never hurts to ask.

saffy,
Before you invest in a smart media reader consider the Dazzle card reader. It reads all current types of cards, i. e. smart media flash memory etc., five different types. I bought one because the USB port on my camera failed and it was the only way I could get the pics into my camera. I Love it. I just have a shortcut to the drive representing the card reader on my desktop, as well as a shortcut to a folder called incoming photos. I incert the flash memory (in your case smart media) into the reader, double click on the drive shortcut, select all the pictures and drag them to the folder shortcut. That's it, there in! In my opinion most camera soft ware is cumbersome and often times not user friendly. My Dazzle card reader cost $40 but I think I recently noted that Gateway has them on sale for somewhere arround $20.

By the way, You are fairly new to this board and Ebay. Sorry about you current troubles with the Vero folks. They may not always be fair but they exist for a reason and they are a fact of life. If you even violate their rules by mistake they don't have a lot of compassion. I have no experience just what I have observed.
What I want to say is this. The poeple on these boards are an ecletic group of folks who enjoy sharing. Some are all business some are very laid back all try to have a sence of humor and most of all we are not experts on every subject. What you get here is friendly advice based on experience. Nobody here claims to be the final word. We are just happy to share our OPINION of what we have learned. To come in here using profanity and name calling is quite immature and rude. Asking for someones opinion and then blasting them if they don't tell you what you want to hear is uncalled for. We are glad to help in any way we can but please reserve the insults for some other board. Thanks.

saffy, there is no clique stuff here. If we wanted that we all know which forums to go to. All people are welcome to this board and we like new ideas and input. It's an excellent place to learn many things that will help you become a better seller or buyer.

throughhiker gave you some excellent advice and summed up the situation really well but maybe you misunderstood it.

Perhaps you can take a bit of time and scroll down to the bottom of this page where it says "User Agreement" and click on that. Read the part 8. Community and you will see how it works here.

Saffy
I was hoping I was wrong but I see you just had to prove my point.

If you need something to do after school, why don't you play video games, you obviously aren't coming here for advice.
