First thing I'd want to know is what is the buyers feedback numbers. If he/she is not a newbie then I would insist they complete the transaction. If they refuse hit them with a neg and file for your fees back.

If they are a newbie I would explain the fee structure and ask them if they would like the product or if they would prefer to pay just the fees. If they don't want either choice then I would go ahead and give them a neg also and file for your fees.

Just my humble opinion

I agree with "capolady" except the Neg part. Negging people get you nowhere excpt a lot of negatives for yourself which as a seller you don't want. If buyer don't make it right file for fees back including final fees, Three of those from three sellers and buyer is gone.

Just how do you "accidentally" click on Buy It Now?

you can get your fvf by stating you both agree to void the auction...ebay will email the buyer to see if they agree and if so then you get your final value fee back.

I agree with raffle. If you both agree, then you can negate the auction. No losers.

I've had customers click on and win two items on a fixed price buy it now auction that had two items listed and once notified of their wins they would send an email stating they only intended to purchase one item.

If they agree to pay all fees involved because of their mistake I let it go at that. If they don't want to pay for their mistake I inform them I'll have no choice but to file NPB and FVF and explain the consequences.

So far all have paid.

a few weeks ago i had about 8 people use buy it now and each only purchased one item yet ebay said they purchased 2 or more. i think this is an ebay glitch. either that or the iq of the ebay buyers is dropping. i would just file for my fvf as a mutual agreement.

Is it possible this person has found a similar item from another seller at a lower price and wants to do business with that person?

Maybe this "mistake" is just an excuse to save money.
