Hi hope I do this right...anyway this is a very ornate round metal box with silver filigree design, enamel inlay and various stones, 2 circular marble? rings... a cigarette box maybe?

My guess would be that it's a tea box or maybe it's an ash urn, you know like when someone gets creamated and they put their ashes in a jar. Or maybe it's a candy jar, you could keep your M & M's in it.

Is that a set of spice jars in the second picture? If so, forget the other thing and list them instead. I got over $75.00 for a set of milk glass jars in a plain rack last year.
The light at the end of the tunnel will turn out to be an oncoming train.

Hi Sparkz, everyone wants to buy my spice jars (I use them as a back drop for my pics, get at least 2 offers a week!)got them quite cheap at auction several years ago, they are not for sale

It does look like a cigarette box to me...have you tried putting cigarrettes in to see if they fit, you may have to take off the filter if this is old...filtered cigarettes are rather new.
I love it no matter what it is...funky shabby chic....
