Can anyone tell me if the USPS still offers the free priority shipping boxes? I can't seem to find them at the postal website. These were the No 4 and 7 sizes.

Yes, go to USPS.com and click on the Postal Store. These boxes are still free. Hope that helps, cramer

The "new and improved" postal web site is confusing, at best. I've had more luck calling their toll-free number (1-800-222-1811) and ordering supplies there. You can also order the pre-printed priority mailing labels at the same time...this can only be done through phone orders. Good luck!

The phone number at USPS will get you good service. You can get a list of boxes and their order numbers from your postmaster. You are even offered auto-ship for sizes you will be using frequently.

The website has been narrowed down to two sizes and envelopes. I was going to restucture my whole packing system until I made that phone call.

Y'all need to make sure that you are in the 'Business' supplies section (and not the personal section), and then you will find all the boxes, forms, tapes, and stickers.

I just came from the site, and while I agree that it is much more difficult to use, since the last upgrade, it is all still there.

I'm with blue eyes. I use the 1-800-222-1811 number & get it done in no time. 11 /12/02. Just went to 1-800-222-1811 Placed an order & was out in less than 3 minutes

The supplies you order this time might not be exactly the same as last time, as happened in my experience. It appears the good 'ol USPS has redesigned their boxes. I was sure I was ordering the small shirt box (rectangular) with the end flaps, and instead, I got a bunch of boxes (roughly the same size - flat) with top and bottom folding closures. So, the box uses almost twice the cardboard as the old box, and the Post Office finds yet another way to squeeze more fees in the form of postage out of their customers.

It is entirely possible that I ordered the wrong boxes, but I was very familiar with every shape and size of Priority mailer they had available, and hadn't seen these 2 boxes before. Anyone else notice the new boxes?

Lucky,
That sounds like a size I could use. What are the dimensions? I also think the 800 number is better. I have been getting error messages when I use the order on the website.

Sometimes in the mail you get a Priority Mail box that is unique and then find out that a large company ordered a huge quantity of the boxes from the post office on a special order and those unique boxes are never made available to the regular customers. The #12 box could be in that group. I'd love to see a wider selection of boxes.

You shouldorderby Box Number to avoid confusion. Every box has a number. I use #4's & #7's most of the time. There are 3 boxes that are very similiar in size & shape They are #'s 1092, 1095, & 1097
