I have gotten two emails that purports to be from Ebay asking me to verify my account information.

They are asking for my CC# (which is OK since I use one), but also for my checking account #, and my SS#. I don't recall giving them this inform originally.

What is this all about?

Ebay would NEVER EVER ask for that info in an email. This is the Golden Age of rip offs via the email.

Big time personal info harvesting. Whatever you do, do not ever give that type of info out.

email is NOT secure. you should never put anything in an email that you don't want public, such as Social Security Number, Credit Card info or any other personal/financial information.

this is a SPAM SCAM that is going around and you need to report it to eBay's Safe Harbor.
