I seem to recall that we used to be able to specify bid increments- back when I set up my auction specifics which was years ago now. I specified a dollar per bid, as I recall. I just noticed that I am now getting ten bids on an item, instead of only four or five... but they only advance fifty cents at a time. Was that a feature, and has it been taken away while I wasn't paying attention? Or is my mind playing tricks on me..

song? no, that's "Turn Turn Turn," isn't it?
I think it's a prayer from Saint Agnes or someone.

Bids from $1 to $4.99 go up in .25 increments, from $5 to $24.99 in .50 increments, and $25 to $99.99 in $1 increments. The entire list can be viewed here http://tinyurl.com/3dsw

"All Shall Be Well" is a song from Pete Townshend's "The Iron Man" CD. The line dragonmom uses is from the chorus. Iron Man is one of Townshend's "theme" projects, formulated as a stage musical after the Ted Hughes book of the same name. Incidentally, one of the characters is a female dragon. "The Iron Man" (Hughes' story) was the basis for the animated film "The Iron Giant", for which Townshend was an executive producer, but isn't credited for the music.

As for bid increments, I don't recall that those were ever determined by the seller.

The prayer is from, (now that I go look) Dame Julian of Norwich, a 14th century Mystic. Pete is a very eddicated man, and a genius musician! Karen did you ever see his website petetownsend.com? He had a journal on it- untill he went on a rant, around xmas last year- insulted Roger, and some other friends. He apologised, removed the post, and shortly afterwards removed the whole website. Now I see, it's back up... there is also a commercial site, eelpie.com. But I really love his grumpy attitude, combined with his humanistic songs- a genuine curmudgeon philosopher.

I believe you are correct. I always used the ebay bid increment defaults and hardly noticed when they did away with the option to set the increments. That was way back when there was only 100,000 or so items on ebay.
