Not true. Only online is being suspended. You can still go to the PO & use Express Mail & will be able to after the first of the year.

I think it is propably a good idea for the postal service.
Think about this.
Some bonehead buys something off a website in the EVENING. They purchase express mail (overnight) They actually EXPECT to arrive that next afternoon. So they are down at the PO gripping WHERE'S MY PACKAGE???
Same website accepts a similar order in the MORNING but does not take it to the PO until the NEXT DAY and overnights it express mail.
Or they take it same day but after the 4:30 pm cut-off for guaranteed delivery
WHERE'S MY PACKAGE!!!
Again this is now a 2-3 day delivery when the customer expects the package the next day.
EXPRESS MAIL OVERNIGHT IS GUARANTEED I WANT A REFUND!!!
A customer service nightmare of disgruntled customers trying to get refunds they do not know they are NOT entitled to due to the website owners failure to bring it in on time.
I would never offer overnight express mail on a website........

I think as long as you manage the expections of the buyers it works out most of the time. You get the occassional troll buyer, but that is to be expected. If you look at Amazon as an example, they tell what service to use if you want delivery by a specific date. Many businesses also state when the cut off date for next day shipping is (like around noon or 1pm for next business day delivery).
