I LOVE it! I'm thinking of a move overseas in the next year or two - what a great way to get rid of everything in one fell swoop! For those detractors - you have to wonder what their life is like that they find such evil in such a simple action.

From a buyer's perspective, why not just go to yard sales and resale shops and outfit yourself, instead of having to buy a bulk lot of someone else's "life". It's not like there is that much unique stuff here.
Now, it is also possible that this guy is doing it as a publicity stunt (witness his having a survivor audition tape and his enjoyment at getting some local TV publicity). No problem with this, but, uh, someone else beat him to it. They sold all of their possessions (albeit one at a time) over ebay. They wrote a book about it as well, which was out in time for Christmas.

Wow, that's great! We are in the process of moving and I have thought about doing the same thing more than once!

Yes, It seems like a good idea to me too, off and on...
I once had a dream in which I owned a huge building- It was full of other people's things- LIke a professional kitchen in one room, a DJ's rack and records in another-All of it I could use, none of it my responsibility- I woke up withthe urge to get rid of everything.
What happend? My FIL died, and my sis-inlaws shared out the estate- we ended up with three time what we already had! And so much of it I CAN't sell because it's heirlooms.... *sigh*
