I have just got my son into selling on eBay, and he listed his first item, a new Pittsburgh Steelers jacket. We have not been able to find it on a search, and then I discovered that he had spelled it Pittsburg, without the "h". He already has a bid on it, so he can't change the title, so I told him to add to his description and put the word in spelled correctly, and it should come up on the description search, but it doesn't. Any suggestions?

He needs to cancel the existing bid and end the auction ASAP.
He can use 'error in listing' as a cancellation reason and then relist the item with the proper spelling.
Too many people looking for Pittsburgh Steelers 'stuff' will not get a chance to find his item ~ most will not click on the item description search as it will bring up too many items (items made in Pittsburgh, places near, postcards of, etc) .
Best of Luck to him

The fact that it says: Steelers
Will get the attention it needs.

Maybe the revision hasn't been in long enough to show in search.

If you add to an item after it gets a bid the new info added doesn't get picked up in the search.

Also, the added info is way down at the bottom of the page so not everyone sees it.

If this is an item that your son is expecting to get a fair price for I suggest he cancel the auction and start over. Or perhaps "Steelers" will be enough info?

I agree that most looking for these items simply search Steelers, and the item will get plenty of views as it is currently written
however
For a sports item being sold by a newbie seller, your highest bid is most likely to come from a newbie buyer
who will search using both Pittsburgh and Steelers
JMHO but why settle for it being 'enough' when it can be better?
